Where is the trident type s and p
Its been years
I've talked about it a few times before. The gameplay changes intended to make their differences relevant were delayed, so the variants were delayed along with them. They're still in the pipe.
I can wait for type s/p , wants capella before them :)
Oh oh don't forget player owned Teradons too!

Are the ships themselves ready? I understand they may not be particularly useful yet.
If they are thought to be ready, can they be released on the test server so bugs can be found by the player-base before they are supposed to be useful? I think it would be a good idea to know they work before people try and rely on them, rather then spend untold hours building them only to find that they are not useful because of X broken thing.

This probably belongs in its own thread: but what about releasing the Type S (or whichever one was pictured in a previous newsletter) as an NPC ship? It could join the others as another piece of eye-candy for the universe.
Adding them as NPCs is possible, might be interesting.
There isn't likely to be a lot of value to "bug testing"? I mean, they're based on the Trident, which is incredibly heavily tested from a docking/launching standpoint, which is one of the few areas of possible "bugs". Everything else is common to all other capships, and just differs in model and collision hull.
I mean, that might change if the plans for them also change, and they get some kind of wacky new feature or whatever. But, at the moment, no, early-testing is not a priority, especially compared to all our other critical priorities.

Does one of them have more armor, more armament, more thrust, and less cargo space?
Because I could totally go for that!

Aye one that is more directed to use as a gunship then as an armed cargo ship would be cool. Would be really cool to see one of the Teradon guns as a primary forward firing weapon.
