Discord Language on General
A bunch of Mexicans and Russians suddenly spammed #general on the Discord and I want to know if there is any rule that is against using any language other then English there or if it's international. We have dedicated channels for other languages but these people insisted on talking on general because of the reason that some people talk in English on the Russian channel.
I don't want to ban anyone or do any harm, I just want to clear this up because the conversation with these people is way too long already.

Wow, that's not the "language" I thought the thread would be about.
I know of no written rule about the use of non-english languages on 100 or #general. We do have rules about spamming, but I would hesitate to arbitrarily characterize communication in another language as such if you did not understand them.
I'd rather attention be focused on the existing rules:
"Foul language is not permitted, in any language.
Excessive use of foul language in an inappropriate context, including swear words, real-world racial slurs, and other language that is not consistent with the science fiction environment and designed to hurt, will be considered a disruption. The existence of the filter (game options) is not a license to be profane."

Maybe someone who speaks those languages could post something here that discord moderators can copy/paste (better then google translate) to those people telling them about the rooms set aside for their language? It can't be helpful to them to be unaware of a room where supposedly the people in it speak their language. I'm not suggesting that people be banned from a room because they do not speak English, just that they be given the information in case they do not know about the other channels.
An excellent suggestion. Thank you.
