Revenge of the devs
Ok, so for quite awhile a lot of us have whined and complained and sent a lot of tickets (me included) and I believe the big update incarnate and ray have been diligently working towards has more than just fun for us. It'll be fun for them. Incarnate dropped a lot of hints, statements, and tips as to what they are doing for a very long time now. If you look carefully. Almost all of them mention new dangers. So let's all remember 2019 is right around the corner. Tighten your belts and keep your eyes peeled for absolute mayhem as incarnate and ray will most likely take more than a few lives the night 2.0 drops with their chemical warfare ions and black magic >...>

ironically the current community seems bent on badgering the devs until they remove all danger from the game.
I love the danger
I wouldn't mind exploding more than 2 or 3 times a week.
I think 1.9 comes first, but I'm no mathematician or game dev
The night 2.0 drops?
Lol, it must have been over 6 years ago when we saw the roadmap explored in a fair amount of detail for the kickstarter campaign.. you do realise there's a 1.9 we still haven't got to yet right...
Welcome back pey, sorry I can't join you for some splosions this time around. Too busy dealing with carebears IRL. They don't wear [TGFT] tags for easy identification, although they usually have the title 'Government Procurement Specialist' .. so that's sort of the same thing.

Conversely, we've actually shipped a lot of stuff planned from the Kickstarter campaign. Like, the iOS version has been live for years now, we did re-work a lot of improved graphics (adding shadows and dynamic lighting with the DX11 renderer, updating many individual ships), etc. Obviously not everything, stuff like sector-density and some of the grander gameplay goals aren't there. But, not bad for.. not actually having any additional funding?
In the end, the version is just a number. I really don't find it as significant as many of the rest of you do. But in terms of significant changes to the game? Yeah, those are coming, in a big way. Which I think is mostly what the OP was about.
