VO 1.8.475

VO 1.8.475 includes:
- Fixed issue with mining beam effect not staying connected to ships.
- Fixed memory leak.
- Goliath powercell grid changed from 125 to 55
- Hive Queen top speed increased from 140 to 180
- Hive Queen turbo thrust increased from 1640 to 16400
- Hive Queen braking thrust increased from 1290 to 12900
- Stronghold-specific Hive Queen blaster powercell drain increased from 80 to 160
- TPG Goliath description changed to remove the term "freighter", as all VO ships are multi-role.
Still a lot of technical work going on in the background, major changes and improvements to the physics engine, which could have far-reaching implications for future large-scale gameplay.
The "memory leak" may have been the issue impacting people's framerates over extended run-times. If people continue to run into these kinds of issues, please post them to the Bugs Forum.

Is it me but why reduce the goli cell, u cant equip it like a capship now, and dont say its a taster to get other capships cuz i pay for this so call capship (even tho u cant fully equip it now).
There was a really extensive discussion on Suggestions, and then also a lengthy counter-suggestion thread.
I'm sure there are lots of alternatives that various people would prefer. But, I don't want the Goliath to be harder to acquire, so increasing the build requirements is not ok. I also don't want to buff the Trident at the moment. So, I nerfed the grid. We'll see how that works.
I would also think that many pilots, if choosing between (heavily) nerfing their acceleration versus grid, would probably choose grid, but it would depend on who you ask and how they fly. In any case, I picked grid, I think it's better on-balance than nerfing the ship's relatively strong maneuvering capabilities.
I disagree that "you can't equip it like a capship now".
There will likely be other changes to capship equipment in the not too distant future, and there are definitely some big expansions to the roles of capital ships planned. There is still value to the Goliath, and that is only going to increase drastically.
