Running Win2K SP4, the least crappy version of windows...

Very happy with this system. I run a computer shop, so of course I built this system by hand. Vendetta runs smooth as can be in any resolution, all the way up to 2048x1536 in 32bit with all options cranked! The next upgrade will jumping up to an Athlon64 rig...

Custom built:
- Koolance liquid cooled case
- Athlon 64 3000+ (liquid cooled)
- 1024 MB Cruical DDR400 memory
- nVidia 6800GT 256MB AGP 8x graphics card (liquid cooled)
- 120GB Seagate SATA drive
- 19" Samsung flat panel 25ms monitor @ 1280x1024
- Logitech Attack 3 Joystick
- Bubbly blue lightshow so the insides look bling

I get 200+ FPS on this with all the details turned up to full, and have to switch on vertical sync to avoid tearing effects when I'm firing off my gatling turret. Severely distracted by Half Life 2, hence less Vendetta over the last few days.

Was previously playing on 1.5 Ghz PowerBook, gig ram, 128MB graphics, but couldn't switch all the options to full. Hence a clear need for a desktop...

my box at home:

XP3200+ on an Epox nForce 2-base MB.
1GiB DDR 400 RAM
System drives are 2x10K RPM 73GB Raptors in RAID1, a bit more storage.
GeForce 6800GT
Soundblaster Live
runs Gentoo Linux.

my box at work:
AMD64 XP3500+, socket 754 (was supposed to be 939, but delivery took ages)
1GiB DDR 400 RAM
2x200GB disk
GeForce 6800, dual-DVI (connected to two Eizo 18.1" L685 LCDs)
Soundblaster Live
runs something that once was RedHat Enterprise Linux 3.4

my wifes box at home:
XP2500+
1GiB DDR 400 RAM
1x160GB, 1x250GB disk
GeForce 5900XT
Soundblaster Live

if I'm at work, I also have a few Intel Extreme 3.2Ghz-boxes and a growing number of Socket 939 AMD 64-boxes here and there (some in a graphics lab with projectors and a decent sound system) to play with. word of advice people, don't do PvP on a projector without having taken something to stop you from going seasick. I mean _barf_. looked neat though, nothing like blowing up a ship the size of your chest -- and plasma devs, well, let's just say they "foofmp" well and light up the room decently.

I also have two servers (dual PIIIs), a laptop (~2lbs 12" thingy) and a book-sized VIA Eden-toy as a firewall, running a self-rolled Linux-from-scratch booting over TFTP. no moving parts makes for a nice and stable firewall. :-)
