Whoa whoa, what about the PPC processors? No multi threading there!?

Definitely get the Core 2 Duo, Leber... and since you are ...Mac. You have no choice anyways... (well, you could get those Xeons of course... bit expensive for playing VO though) if you wish to go over to the muddy side of the pond, you're still best off with the Core 2 Duo... currently.

moldy, of course there's multi-threaded on ppc hardware. though, an application really benefit from it if you have more than one processors (like dual g4 towers and dual g5 towers and some dual ppc imacs).

users benefit from multi-threaded apps regardless of the number of processors/cores there are if the applications are multi-threaded too, but strictly on a perceived performance standpoint (aka, not blocking ui while other threads work in background).
