Actually, a very good idea. This website keeps track of the latest versions of Mac, Windows and Palm software, and offers a way for your software to be noticed in passing not only by end users, but also by the hundreds of publishers who come by daily to post their developers' updates.

That's right, increase traffic so bandwidth costs will skyrocket. Brilliant plan.

=b

The issue here is to get the publisher's attention, not the public's. There's no use dragging a huge crowd in here and have 'em whine about something that isn't complete. It's a test engine and beta testing is not a job for everyone.

So why are you here...?

Anyways, bandwidth is free iirc, while I don't think we'd attract a large amount of dedicated people, it'd be nice to see the community double in size. (as would finiancial support)

Noooo! More n00bs means crappier trade routes!! j/k. But the bigger the player-base the more likely a publisher would notice. Imagine what a publisher would say if you had an independantly run software house with a staff of 6 people and funded out of pocket by one person put out a test with over a thousand registered users. I would be damn impressed.

They just need an annoying bold face warning just above the word "Download" that says something to the effect of:

"You are entering a TEST of an engine, not a game. This TEST does not reflect the finished state of Vendetta. This is a TEST, not a game. A TEST."
