I'd like to make special note of what a giant pain in the neck this was. It seems like it should be easy.. even trivial. But, as it turned out, it was pretty complicated, along with some degenerate math issues that had to be re-worked to make it properly functional.

I think it was a source of player frustration that we didn't do this for a long time. But.. it actually took awhile to functionally implement this. FYI.
