I just tried the Cent/flak combo and floated through 4 and 1 and then back out to cap. I took 10% from ramming the 1 station. Oops. Cool technique. I'm about to try the bus.
It's kinda hard to solo-cap in a bus when alienb is gunning after you with a tri-gauss Valk. *grumble* I'll try tonight.
"What I believe SirCamps is implying here (correct me if I'm wrong) is that you go through the wormhole [i.e. from 1 - 4], pop back through [i.e. 4 - 1] (lather, rinse, repeat) until you have popped in with the wormhole in front of you (or at the "backend" of the wormhole) thus giving you the greatest chance of making an end run around the next set of defbots unscathed."
Oh, ok, thanks Paedric
Oh, ok, thanks Paedric
Great, you had to tell every single stupid valk rammer how to cap now?
Actualy, i prefere the hog method

Heh, commenting on a jackass remark with another jackass remark....irony, no..?
:p
:p
interesting...
i presumed it was something along those lines. oh well, should've tried more.
it's just funny how high tempers rise about an unsignificant thing as this.

OK, I tried this technique a couple of times (and wasted something like 600k on it... don't ask)
And it seems the bots are often waaaay to close to just turn around, couse they come in from in front of you, shoot (maybe even hit you -_-) and then they turn and are like 400 m behind you...
So I think I should have gone AWAY from the station and stuff, then get the bots behind me and *then* kill them... how well, time to waste some more money now.
Something I'm quite amazed by tough is.... how in earth can you capture the flag with a centurion O_o ?

Indeed, tosh. Someone has to whine 'n flame about everythin'.
... whops! :P

I agree with SkyFox. The Hog method is a LOT better. You blow the def bots to pieces withought getting a scratch on ya! None of this turning aruond and shotting stuff... It may work if your good enough but it's too much of a risk if their already tight on your tail. Then what?
As for being the third to figure out how to solo cap...
You may be the third for all I know but there certainly are more then three people who can do it now... I know at least 8 different people who can do it now.

I solo capped once prereset with a hog, hvy battery and prox mine lanucher :-P. Just get the bots to line up, then pick them off :-D
Also try hog+lmines (mine around the flag and lead the bots there).
(I used lmines before I *invented* the corrent hog method).

Centurion + flechette method:
The code of the AI is such that any NPC will back off if sprayed with energy fire. You warp in, directly grab the flag, and head for the wormhole. You shoot at any defbot when they're about 600m away, and they'll keep their distance. Warp into 12/4/6 and head directly for the next sector. It doesn't matter if you pick up bots, just spray them with flak rounds to keep them away from you. Of course, the presence of real players confounds this method. I suppose you could do Hog/Mines/Flechette and mix up the two tactics--that'd be fun.
cdgweb, I was just commenting on alienb's unnecessary remark:
--------------
Um...you did know how to do this before now, didnt you camps?
Neh, you probably didnt, because as soon as you find out about something, you feel it fit to tell the world..heh.. poor boy

uhh... time to lock this thread?
YEsterday:
SF1, successfully solo capped Itani in a Centurion armed with only a Flechette Cannon and a HVY/HVY (engine/Batt.) combo. Granted for s7-s8-s5-s12 he fell under the protection of a rather thrown together escort element but he did it.
And then he tried it in a bus...

Psh. you younguns that's that's good?
back in the days of 3.1, the bots were MUCH smarter than they be now. And there was turrets. I took my bus to 3, grabbed gold's flag, then went to 2 and grab's red's flag, then took them all the way back to 1. alone. there's a solo cap for you. that requires real good flying.

I once capped flying only backwards in 3.1, so shush =)
*cough*infinite-boost bug*cough*
Flechette: your anti-bot spray.
haven't tried it and probably will not try it very soon.
but people should post more techniques if you want to have serious enemies.
if you're in the game just to brag about it, you will drive many newbies away from the game and that will not help any of you's.
good material SirCamps, keeep up the good work.

I don't think posting techniques gets you new enemies or drives away newbies. newbs might find it useful :) (though I don't doubt it'll take some serious practice before a newb can solo cap)
