Welcome back :). If your laptop runs Windows, you might try changing it to the "DirectX 9" driver (Game Options -> Video), that usually runs a lot faster for older hardware, although it won't look quite as nice.

It's Windows 10, bought in Sept. 2017, but its just a very low end laptop.

On a different topic, it's good to see you Inc! Any major things happen while I was gone?

Even on Windows 10, you might have better luck with the DirectX 9 driver, or keep using DX11 and just try turning off dynamic lighting (or setting it to 2-lights only). I'm curious what kind of laptop you have? I'd rather improve our auto-detection so you don't have to fiddle with this stuff manually; but it's hard thing to engineer, given the huge diversity of hardware out there.

There've definitely been some changes. Take a look at the newsletters from February (today), December, and November.
