Cross posted from News:

VO 1.8.443 includes:
- New Behemoth graphical ship assets, across all platforms.

VO 1.8.442.1 included:
- Fixed crashes when viewing a Trident.

A major bugfix earlier this week, addressing crashes for certain Windows players. The new Behemoth asset has been posted in images over the last few weeks, but is now integrated and launched in the game:

We're hard at work on some new developments, which will hopefully be featured soon in the January newsletter! Have a great weekend, everyone.

Where? Also, your tinyurl is giving a 502

It was posted on Facebook, which is where the tinyurl links. It works for me on three different browsers, two of which are never logged into our facebook account.

It also works on my phone (no FB app, never used for our FB account) on AT&T's network.

But, it's possible that FB has an edge cache server that's broken right now, near you?

its started working - we'll just say that was the broken thing. Aye, its a beauty. I'm especially a fan that the new texture aint symmetrical - for some reason I didnt think anything ever would be.

This update borked the display resolution on my monitor down to 800x600. When I attempt to change it, the client crashes. OSX 10.12.6

Ore, did you log in before this Behemoth update on Friday? We released a patch earlier in the week that would have been more likely the source of the issue.

Been on most every day, and this bug just showed up today. Totally unplayable at 800x600 and I can't change it back to the monitor's native res. without the game crashing.

Are you using the OpenGL 4 GKGL driver or the OpenGL Reference GKGL driver?
Try editing the config.ini file to change the resolution, the file is located where the other assets for the game are.
Open it with a text editor and change the xres=800 to xres=1920 and change yres=600 to yres=1080 (or whatever your native res is).
If that doesn'w work, send us your errors.log and opengl4info.log (or openglinfo.log) files.

Thanks Ray that worked. Looks like I'm using the GKGL driver. what is the preferred driver and how is a guy to know?

Ore: They're both GKGL drivers :). Which one are you using?

The one that doesn't have the word reference in it.

Hats off to the artist on this Moth model. This is the best one yet. No holes in it, actually looks badass for a trade ship. Well done!

Which Mac are you using? Or is this a Hackintosh?

(Glad you like the Behemoth, I agree it's a great design).

2017 MBP with internal and discrete video cards. I'm using GfxCardStatus so I'm confident its switching to the Radeon Pro 460. Which driver would you have me use?

Last night I was chugging so hard the debris was stuttering and audio cracking. Barktooth lost all respect for me I was lagging so hard.

I logged as it became unplayable.

The OpenGL 4 driver will be much prettier and nicer looking, the OpenGL Reference driver will be much faster.

But, the GL4 driver should be plenty fast on a discrete GPU, like a Radeon Pro 460.

I would suggest creating a support ticket, and sending your errors.log and openglinfo.log or opengl4info.log after running the game.

I appreciate that you may have a program intended to change which GPU is being used, but VO is pretty low-level and may be completely bypassing this.

We don't have a Mac with dual-GPUs, so this isn't a case we can easily test in-house. We've had people report to us in the past that it works, but there's still the possibility that we broke something in a later update, or (for that matter) that Apple broke something in an OS update. So the logs would be helpful for determining what's going on.

So one driver is "prettier and nicer looking" and the other is "much more attractive". I'm still confused.

The software I have just tells me when the MacOS changes it. Its just a status of which card is in use, purely informational. If I have more issues I will indeed write up a ticket as it seems I'm the only one experiencing this problem. It might also be that I hastily disconnected the monitor while playing the game.

Sorry, I meant to say something to the effect of the Reference driver being faster. Edited the original post.

Basically, GL4 is probably nicer graphics but slower, and Reference probably looks more dated but is faster.
