First it looks pimp. I did notice one glaring issue with the ship model. It shows left and right weapons ports which is very cool but the actual ship weapon slots are in line and two different sizes.

Is this new graphic eluding to a possible change in the Hogs ports in the future?

I hope not, but the old hog did have weapon looking ports in the insides of the wing too, hopefully cosmetic as one of the reasons I love the warthog is because of the weapon placement. Btw this is not a new model, it is the old one with new textures I believe.

It's a completely new model, re-done from scratch, with around 8x as many polygons, and 4x as much texture resolution. There's a lot of small, fine details, like those tubes under the wing cowlings, behind the cockpit, but it's all in keeping with the original design. If you compared them side-by-side it'd be pretty obvious.

The "weapon" ports are stylistic only and don't represent any change. Imagine them as lateral sensor arrays if you want..

I agree with Wash a little. Why not design them as glass orbs then?

Heh. They are as Curt made them, I didn't have a problem with them, and our current workload has been such that I'm not inclined to be as picky as you guys. A futuristic spacecraft can have all sorts of things shaped like that, which may have different purposes other than weapons, if one wants to get truly anal-retentive about "realism". Maybe it's a pair of high frequency directional 75ghz horn antennas with waveguides? I mean, why would putting them in "glass orbs" make any more actual sense? (glass would actually attenuate signals that high).

Maybe the coffee comes out on one side and cocoa on the other. I don't know ;). Here at Guild Software, we're all very tired, and we didn't get home until 1am from shipping the @#!@ thing.

The hog mk2 is one of my favorite small ships.
