OK im an avid gamer, way back when i bought a C64 just so i could play Elite.
But until i heard someone mention Vendetta on the VegaStrike forum i had NEVER heard of it. Maybe its just because im in the UK, i dont know but i like this kind of game ( Elite, Frontier, Terminus (eww) Parsec (pity) VegaStrike and now Vendetta (obviously))
The point i am trying to make is that i LOOK for this kind of game and until 3.2.3 (i think) i had never even seen it.
Vendetta needs to be sent out there to the people. We need the public support more players = more income for guild.
I have done a quick ( very quick) bit of research if you will.
Using the phrase 'online space combat game'
Checked Macupdate.com no mention of vendetta
Checked Macaddict.com ditto ( Qbert !!! weird )
Checked Insidemacgames Good coverage but from 9 months ago
OK maybe not exhaustive but you see my point.
Come on people lets push this game to the general public.
What about submiting the game link to Macupdate.com NOW then again when an update is released, keep pushing.
What about a submission to the magazines?? The latest available version on a cover disk. Most mags need good stuff to fill out those disks and it would make the d/l process less painfull for those on slower connections ( not everyone is on broadband, particularly here in the UK )
What about it people / devs ??

PS im not very good at this sort of thing but you get the general idea, and i know its all Mac biased but im sure the same thing must apply PC wise
PPS has anyone got a good Vendetta logo i can use as a link on my website?? I get 30 / 40 hits a day = more potential players / payers

The coverage for Linux is extremely good. HappyPenguin et al cover Vendetta extensively, and every distro's forums has several Vendetta posts.
PS Mini: Try http://www.roguelazer.com/vendetta_icon.png
It's the official icon

Although... Your idea is good. With the devs' permission, I'd think that we could post some stuff. A news submission to LinuxGames.com, a news post (and game update post) to Happy Penguin, some mac stuff, etc. I'm gonna go ask teh devs (or mayhap one of them will read this and reply?)...
mm...slashdot?
they have asked in the past that we *refrain* from posting to slashdot.
So, lets refrain from talking about slashdot, or someone who doesn't know what refrain means will post a story.
mmm slashdot refrain?
My understanding is that the devs didn't advertise because more players would have increased thier bandwidth costs excessively.
If they start charging to play, they'll need as many players as they can get I suppose. They can always stop accepting new testers when it starts to get too much.
