What are keychains? What's the sense of them? Who gives them out?

not keychains - a keychain is where your keys are stored. that tab in the UI shows you what keys you own.

Keys? These tell you whose Capships you can dock at, and if you can dock at the conquerable stations while the KeyGiver (dunno what they are officially called) owns said station.

For the most part, you actually dont have to worry about these except if you go to dock in someone's Capship to reload and repair, and you dont have permission to.
