Indeed, the cost of the TU launchers was high enough already.
In the last few weeks I have owned 3 TU launchers and have used them a total of 4 or 5 days and I lost every single one because handling them in popular areas is dangerous as mentioned in the various suggestion posts lately.
The steep reload cost increase now makes them completely unattractive to use, so look forward to lightning mine fields from now on.

lightning mines look cool anyhow. I will enjoy watching you fishnet the wormholes.
Oh good, another update that makes the game less fun.
Sorry, I can't not be cynical about this stuff anymore.

So, per the Suggestions thread, I've bumped the lifetimes and max-counts of mines.
And, ultimately, that's what I would prefer.. having the option to be able to tune this stuff a bit more specifically, as opposed to things that were never-intended-to-be-free becoming free and being used on a far wider scale than anticipated.

Whether I like the updates or not, I thank the devs for doing them. If I react badly just ignore me.
Please don't forget to include the changes to mine lifetimes and max count in the changelog for 1.8.408 when it comes out.
The danger using TU mines to ones own hull far outstripped any other cost limitation of them.
I don't really care that this decision was made. It's not a particularly good one, but more importantly it's not particularly relevant.
I'd speculate that it was in response to someone's support ticket but honestly who cares.
Can we implement some drain lightning mines now so actual blockades can happen?

Indifferent to the TU thing as I rarely died to or used them. The opportunity costs of manufacturing them make them a poor choice to craft for market.
The incentive to build TU mines even with a stockpile of required components has vanished with increased reload costs. The only practical application of a tu is now capship defense.

Yeah, what the heck is stopping you guys from reimplementing drain mines as a zapper?

If you cry loud enough, something will get "fixed".
