So long story short, I was a beta tester on this game WAYYYYY back in the day, (my signup date is September 30th 2004) So i've been around before there were cap ships and lots of things.

I haven't played in a little over 6 years, mostly because I got a full time job and became an adult. But I miss this game and the community.

I mean I started playing this game when I was in highschool dating some girl who I ended up being with all the way through college, we ended up splitting, I got a full time kicthen job(i'm a chef) and I kinda just fell off.

I mean to put things in REAL perspective I started playing this game with I was 15, I'm now 28 and will be getting married in May. But something has been itching at me to come back.

I mean I've made some awesome friends here, 2 of whom I'm still friends with to this day, 1 is even coming to my wedding from over 1000 miles away. It will be our first in person meeting ever, after having met here over 12 years ago.

I remember chatting with the developers in the IRC chat room, I remember the devs coming in game in funny weird ships and dropping super heavy cargo to mess with people.

I really want to come back, for so many reasons. I'm just wondering if it's become drastically different, or if I could just jump right back into it?

This game brought me so much happiness and entertainment as a teenager. I want to experience that again as an adult.

I'm SO happy to see it's continued to develop and grow and didn't die like I had feared.

According to the site I have 2 "buddies" online. I forgot that was a feature. Its Harpo and smittens.

I'm considering getting back into the game soon. I really enjoyed exploring and mining.

Is mining still a big thing?

Basic play hasn't changed that much. Controls and such are about the same. By the time you hone your basic skills you will start to pick up the newer aspects of the game.
