26 hours of play time, not total time. And I only hit one of the licenses. :-) fantastic value for $3.

Are there more like you out there? Bring them!

What Whistler meant to say was:

Do you know any other people with money? Tell them to spend it on VO!

I was thinking more of reasonable people who are well-spoken, but sure!

lol; I think ive spent at LEAST a day each week, a minimum of half an hour each, playing on VO, since I began a year ago - yet I only have 26 days spent online. does this not count docked time or something?

Playing 1 day a week for the whole year would result in having played 52 days. Playing half an hour each of those days would result in having played 26 hours.

So you've spent at least 26 hours online according to those numbers.

:D

I had to check again, since that is uncanny, but it does say days, not hours. But it still made me chuckle :P

So, I submitted a new description change for the game on GearVR, that mentions the level cap.

Unfortunately, there's a 1000-character limit for the entire game description, which is a bit tight, but I managed to make it work.

Also, apparently Oculus wants an entire week to review my new text and roll out the changes. So, you'll see it whenever.. they.. do that. Odd, we can release game build updates instantly and break things any way we want to, but changing the description text requires a week of Q/A oversight.

Anyway, whatever, it's in the works fwiw..

Good luck. I hope this doesn't scare anyone off because the whole system seems very well thought and fair now that I get it.

Just heard about this in chat while playing. It stung a bit to find out... For like 15 second. I've spent about a dozen hours playing and leveled up one license to 2 (mining...I spend too much time floating around looking at things in VR...) and I've gotten what I would consider an experience that is well worth the money.

The community seems great, the flight physics are exactly what I've been looking for, and there is always something to do. The graphics are decent, though more cockpit veriety would be extremely welcome when switching ships. Immersion wise, one of the best in VR hands down. I've played a lot of gear VR and vive titles and even with the cap it is by far one of the most complete games around. Makes most stuff that is far more expensive feel like the tech demos they are. Warping into a new system is a fantastic feeling, and floating out on the edges looking for asteroids is some of the most beautiful stuff in the medium.

I'm not sure that I'll pay the subscription fee when the time comes, but I already know I've gotten way more than my money's worth with VO when most VR "games" right now are wave shooters, mini games, and tech demos that last <1 hr.

What, outside of flying the nation-elite ships (UDV, Prom, Valk, Hound) and capships, can you NOT do without a subscriptions? For flying ships, i mean for model-wide (the ships that only have 5+ variants, even in corvus stations). Weapons can be bought and then equipt at certain stations, so honestly a subscription doesnt "unlock" much content. It just becomes a hell of a buttload easier.

I'm glad you are finding VO enjoyable!

You cannot create guilds (nor help create them) or hold a title in a guild without premium. You cannot build most of the maufacturable stuff either. Nor can you play on any device. Apart from this there really isn't much you cannot do without a sub. Even with a sub I tend to use equipment that you can buy as a f2p player for PvP and there are a few things to do even after you hit the level caps, like faction grinding, badges badges badges and several unlocks too. No mushrooms though.
