I understand that some people want this feature involved inside the game - including myself, I was curious and hoping that maybe some feature of the sort would be available to we could do things on our own.

Thanks - Colton

From the FAQ:

Will the game be split among multiple "servers clusters", each supporting a unique game universe?

No. Our game is a single game universe spread contiguously across all servers. In other words, the entire population of the game will interact in the same universe, not be split into different "server universes" as it is in World of Warcraft, EverQuest and other MMOs. There are some technical challenges to this, but we believe it's worthwhile in terms of the game culture, interaction, and general benefits of having an increased population in one place.

I feel very strongly about this; it's one of the reasons I've stuck with the game for 13 years. I won't get into all the philosophical reasons here, but allowing private servers is fundamentally against the grain of what a MMORPG "is". I could bring up everything from the second law of thermodynamics to the simulation argument.

I'm of the opinion that the moment you allow private servers your game stops being a MMOG and becomes a peer-to-peer game like Minecraft or Rust. Yes, those are very popular; neither of them hold a candle to the reasons I play Vendetta.
