Capship Battle Test - Feedback
We just had a big cap battle on the production game, I'd like to hear how things worked and didn't-work for people.
I actually experienced no apparent server-side lag during the event (although a little happened after the event, when I spawned a ton of serco teradons to do cleanup). So the "lag" you experienced was probably due to intentional bandwidth throttling done by the game server to limit things, and perhaps also the performance of your own hardware with that much "stuff" onscreen.
Still, I'd like to hear how it all went down from your perspective.

Personally, I was on wifi and was experiencing very little lag for the most part. There was a point around halfway through where I started seeing a little bit of jumpiness when in full turbo and turning around the denser parts of combat. There was one player who I believe is on android that wasn't taking any damage from neutron hits, yet when he left and came back my neuts worked as advertised.
Fun event, honestly was expected a lot more lag based off of what was on screen.

I think once the capships exceeded about 80 in number I started seeing lag. Certainly at the end the 100 or so tridents were taking turns quickly moving 1000m/s into position. I've definitely seen worse lag though.

Cool, good to hear.
It's also helpful to post if you were playing on PC or mobile at the time. I imagine it would have been pretty rough on mobile, but I'm still curious.

I was on my mac air.
Before when 5 dents warped in no lag, when 40 came It started lagging when I was pointed toward clusters. 100's.. My ship stopped in 3 second intervals and spontaneously combusted. I spent 200-500k in getting raptors back lol.

Very nice event! Thanks for hosting!
My perspective:
As the event started, all ran smooth and clear. The first 5-10 minutes with the HACs and the first Tridents were all well. I eventually went to grab my Trident and Avalons and started bombing the HACs, deshielding the first one smoothly. Eventually some lag appeared as this insane ball of Tridents rolled through the sector. It resulted in a few capships jumping around (most notably the HAC I was aiming for in the end) which made deshielding it critical. Eventually, the lag cleared as I took out the last HAC. So funnily while I first felt the big ton of Tridents kicked the lag/slowmo on, the lag faded with the explosion of most of the major ships (Connies, HACs).
All in all it was an interesting test. No crashing was exprienced and no lag deaths happened. Nice!
I played on my main PC with Windows 10.

Eh,First little bit was minimal lag,Then when all the dents and connies came in,i started lagging fairly bad,No crashes(surprisingly),But all in all it was fairly laggy for the majority of the event.
I play on some odd LG phone, don't know the specifics.

Like sieger said really as the event started it was all smooth, I was cruising around in my trident getting blasted by 20 or so cap gauss and I experienced zero lag and didn't notice any random movements from any of the enemy tridents.
I also noted that all the other players looked smooth to me and no jumping was seen. As has been mentioned once the bulk of the enemy tridents spawned in then i experienced a little lag but as sieger said once the capships started to explode the lag was minimal (And by the way cool wreakage effects).
Great event and I'm glad I stayed up for it.

All smoth, except at the end with lots of tridents, they started being jumpy. Swarms were a little bit laggy. No visual lag tough at all.
Well, I was at work when all this happened, remoted into a client server, and the lag was TERRIBLE. I blame VO for that, as it MUST have been related ;)
Seriously, sad to have missed the fun, sounds like it was quite a blast.

I was on mobile yes it lagged but seem to lag mostly when I was close to the capship and getting fire upon. Jumping in to the middle of all the ships was tough died a few times :(. But I was able to get back in and kill some ncp raptors

When you spawned all those serco cappys you can tell we were reaching the limits of smooth gameplay fast.
