So, soon new Trident light frigate variants will be added. What will be the difference between them? Bigger cargo hold? More player room? What will it be?
No, not soon. SoonTM.
No one knows, not even Inc. That's what makes them so special.

Well, unlike the Type M, the Type S will have pants and the Type P will have a shirt. If you want a complete outfit, you'll have to wait for the Teradons.
It is highly recommended that you don't morph into an impatient fuck, or Inc will come here in his hazmat suit and spray hazardous chemicals on everything and everyone.
It's been rumored that one turns into a giant robot that is vaguely reminiscent of John Bergman.
Wow CD! that really was vaguely reminiscent of John Bergman.
And I'll Form The Head.
And I'll Form The Head.
I would ask which one, but that would violate the civility standards, so I won't ;)

When you throw 10k at someone. I think it's safe to assume you can say anything.

Heh. No, there is no amount of money that entitles anyone to behave poorly here, ever.
Now going back to the poor guy's original post..

It hasn't been announced because it's been through a few different phases, based on what I could expect for progress of the rest of the game's development at the time when they're released. At present, I have some pretty specific ideas, but it feeds into differentiating factors that have never been seen in the game before, so I'll probably announce that stuff before talking about Tridents.

Yeah come on Jordan, this isn't the Red Light district
Speaking of which, I feel like prostitutes should be a commodity only sold in Odia M14, and they sell for a massive amount of money in nation spaces, but if a military ship gets close to you you instantly get -500 faction points

PG-13 snake, PG-13. Never ever going to happen. Heck, they even removed Holo disks that only hinted at being porn, and only very vaguely at that too to keep this rating.

What? That never happened. I think the discs just weren't added into the dynamic economy for some reason? They were a specialty good. I don't really remember why they disappeared.

Hell, that's always true to some extent. But I do know a number of specifics that I haven't announced, and I've known for some time. But instead of just making "new tridents that are slightly different from the old trident" I wanted it to be a bit more game-relevant, maybe open up some new factors in gameplay. Interestingly, some bits of the plan go all the way back to the original Milanar, Prosus and Seipos variants/references in the first missions.
My problem is usually not a lack of plans or a lack of goals, but rather a lack of execution (for one reason or another). The one upside of which is that when I do get some time, it's pretty easy to dust off the original plan.
I was actually working on one of those plans tonight (not trident-related), which was nice for a change, getting to do something to the actual game. If I can fix some unrelated server problems tomorrow, we may get to see how it works in the wild. Nothing big, but great to be doing any game tweaks.

I do recall a discussion regarding them back in closed beta, was either yourself or Andy who said they wouldn't be coming back as you were aiming for a low age rating? Meh, it's not like what I said isn't true anyway.
Or are you planning on adding whores?
[edit]
Oooh ooh, might have been the signs that were discussed. Same deal really though.

Unless it's Fleet Week. Then you get automatic POS until the Synth Tequila runs out.
Obligatory reference to Total Recall because midget hooker with a machine gun:

I didn't mean you were making it up, I'm sure it's accepted as truth by the userbase. It's entirely possible that someone said that, but that issue never actually happened in reality. I would guess someone was joking, or was confused, or was misunderstood by someone else. I mean, we could have trivially changed the description to alleviate any concerns.
I actually thought it fell out when we went from the alpha-economy to the beta-economy, because things changed a great deal, and it was kind of a unique specialty item from one particular place, and wasn't added to the new database system.
Anyway, in other news, we just restarted, but Ray forgot to update the code from my changes last night, so you'll have to wait until the next restart to try my strike force modifications. Oh well.
