or if you can't type with one hand :P
about typing while distracting npc's: without wanting to brag, i have to say that i manage to talk pretty well whilst dissing. they don't even kill themeselves when you don't let em get close.
bah! what do i need teamspeak for? *me turns white with envy*
now, where were those install discs?

tosh if you don't like your voice being heard use a mic scrambler/voice changer there are lots of those programs around.
And talking is faster then typing. I can type while distracting too but talking is faster (when my mic works)
/me goes off grumbling about his mic

You could always have voice recognition set up locally which recognized what you said into text, then ran it trhough a tts program and send the tts output into the TeamSpeak input.
Bah! Typing is now just for mac users! We've got a teamspeak server up!
www.teamspeak.org
Server URL is
teamspeak.vendettaweb.net
(or 217.207.137.2 for those of you with slow propogating nameservers)
it's on a 2mb line, and we've had 5 people on with no performance hit whatsoever.

Hmm. I had one of these for a couple of months. I had about 2 clients on per day. SF had one too. The problem is not server-side, but client-side.
We had 4 people solid on my line even when the bandwidth was kind of maxed and it still worked well.
Bah! ill stick to my typing, i love my G5
no typing for me!
/me digs out mic

Well, TeamSpeak got a similar deal from Apple to the one Guild got. They got their free Mac. In fact, Apple gave them two top-of-the-line Macs, and they never freakin' unpacked them. Not once. I didn't believe it. They said "after this version is done", then "after that major patch", and then they said "the hardware's too old". Jebus, they didn't even try it!

you know...
we could use text-to-speech.
problem with that is, how much hp does tts gobble up? if it leaves vendetta unplayable, it's not an option. if it doesn't, however... i'd prefer it to teamspeak, since i don't really want to hear the voices of fellow players (yes, i like anonymity, even or especially when voices are concerned).

I'd take typing over some pimply faced teenager screeching commands at me anyday. Haha.
