First and foremost, VO has issues which can be exploited. How you do it and why is definately important. Ive both used them for good and evil myself. They have a pretty solid plan there with the "Dont be a dumbass" bit.

I dunno if the devs are ok with me defining some of the things ive found out (the hard way) thats exploits can be both good and evil.
Also bear with me, I havnt had the cash to pay to play for a year or so, so some of this info may be outdated, and im not going to explain any details.

As for an example of an exploit that is used for fun instead of profit, I give you concapults, if you dont know, buy me a month and Ill show you, they are a lot of fun, but also definately an exploit. Its all in how you use it. Heres a link

As for me fucking up in the same way, I once blasted a jackass who was far too curious with devbeams in a superbus. It sucked for ?, he now knows better to avoid a weird bus that doesnt move correctly.
HOWEVER, that doesnt make it right, I could have easily just ditched him and went off to an empty sector to apply my curiousity.

They do have limited resources, and if you become a pain in the ass, you are far from the only who can cheat, and not nearly the best one. Get out of line and Ill collect pennies to hunt you down.

How is the concatapult an exploit? It seems like intended behavior for a whole lot of explosions to add up their blast force.

The bad news about that now is that you can only have 42 mines per-player, per-sector. The amount of distance you can rack up from a concatapult now is somewhat limited in that way...

ARF, you can group up with a few people, and set out a lot more mines than you traditionally could. Back in our day if you left the sector any dropped mines were deleted.

Trust me, you can make WAY bigger concapults now than you ever could before! Also shooting some unsuspecting trader at a station/roid with their own mines never gets old!

Also, tram once shot me with a capship. I mean, the capship was ammo. He shot me with it. Whistler tried sticking his nose in so I shot him too. Tram = best ever person who is saying he is the best person so stfu!

Yes, I remember. We also used to do it in station sectors or with an capship parked nearby (blockades!) to stack up crazy amounts of mines.

It wasn't. Works as intended. Like you say. Especially when you drop one at a common warp in point and shoot traders at stations. It's a game mechanic, but one we abused well.

I don't think strategically placed mines is abuse any more than a well aimed Sunflare rocket. :)

connies make good concatapults if you time it right, takes some of the sheer boredom out of border fleets and deneb skirms

Well fuck, thanks you guys for the support, the concapult exploit I was referring to was the infinite ammo one. Ive sent people so far into deepspace they would take years to get back to even seeing the roids.
