*** Vendetta 1.8.333
- Raptor UDV gains integrated Cargo and Addon scanners (2000m range),
as well as Mineral and Temperature scanners (300m range).
- New Training Neutron Blaster MkII is available in all capitol
stations. The same stats as a Neutron MkII, with only one damage.
- Training Sunflare Launcher also added to capitol stations. Same
stats, but 15 damage.
- The Windows Updater now waits until the game is finished starting
up before exiting. This is an attempt to fix the issue with
DirectX 11 sometimes not entering full screen on startup.
- Fixed freeze when alt-tabbing back to the game after taking a
screenshot with the /dump command on Windows.
- Added a setting to the Mac OpenGL 4 driver to try to get it to
choose the discrete GPU instead of the integrated GPU.
- Android touch inputs that start while in space, and end in the
station, will no longer activate any station buttons. This should
avoid situations like accidentally triggering the Launch button
just after docking.

the training sunnies and n2's are a great idea! but they'd be even more useful if there was a way of having hits scored on your opponent automatically tallied. It's not something you'd do with a plugin because of the inaccuracies in the damage model.
I suppose it could be done to a degree but as I recall 15 damage is well below 1% of most ships so you'd take multiple hits and still be at 99%; no way of counting exactly how many hits have been taken.

@TRS - haha...did you just refute your own suggestion?

Woo! Thanks for considering some of my ideas again, guys! Very cool update.
This is awesome, thanks inc and company.
You can always tell exactly how many hits you've scored by counting the PLAYER_HIT events with a plugin. You don't have to try and estimate it based on how much damage your enemy appears to have taken. That doesn't work at all with rockets anyway, since they can deal between 1 and their rated damage depending on how far your target is from the center of the explosion.
The UDV's Mineral and Temperature scanner doesn't work from what I can see.
Nice collection guys.
Yeah, any newb who wants to track how much they've shot someone with dummy weapons can simply write a plugin to do so. Piece of cake.
I know about PLAYER_HIT, but I was wondering if you hit someone with dual sunnies at the same time does it accurately measure both? I thought there was a problem with this but I might be wrong.
What you can't do is measure accurately how much damage you've dealt.
Towards the suggestion of a plugin to track sparring data, I have created the following suggestion in the community projects board:
http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/16/29977#358850
I think this would be beyond the scope of what I'd expect implemented in-game, but would be an ideal plugin for people who want to take on a training role.

Isn't the Hound's cargo scanner limited to 1000m?
Yes it is, Dr. Lecter. So?
This is just confirmation that the UIT are all pirates. :P
(Actually, in my mind the UDV would be a heavily used tool of the UIT Border Patrol used to check for smuggling. Not that smuggling is a thing that exists yet, but someday...)

Typical VO SNAFU, I suppose. Carry on.
No it is not. While the Greyhound is a ship every idiot can get and fly, the UDV is exclusive and therefore should have exclusive abilities. Since a lot of technical stuff is up with the UIT, it gets outstanding sensors.
By the way, I pre-claim all of your following arguments against it as false; so I don't have to do that later.

On this, we agree. Note that this is not how it was suggested, just how VO implemented it in the usual, half-assed manner.
