Licensing "Leveling"
Good day all,
I am a returning player from a longer than I would like hiatus and now getting back into the game. My question is what tips do y'all have in regards to "Leveling" licenses in this game for a lower level pilot?
I am currently 3/3/2/4/4 and I am really struggling in getting Heavy Weapons to 3. I have read every post I could find here on the subject but some of them are nearly 10 years old and wanted to know if there was an updated process to this? I am UIT and striving to be a miner.
Thank you,
Grev

Here's my favourite way to level heavy weapons license. Killing Prosus assaults with any heavy weapon is the fastest way, you can find them around edras in D-2 and other sectors.
That looks amazing! But I see that the weapon used in the video, the Avalon, is a Hive Drop. Does that mean it is a random drop from bots or is there a better way to gain access to this weapon?
Thank you for the video was very entertaining.

Options are to either kill Arklan Guardians (found in Bractus and Pelatus; maybe in other places) until an Avalon falls off (1/10 chance), or else buy them from a player (not sure what the current going rate is, but it's probably pretty high from your perspective, upwards of a million credits each).
The type of XP you get is based on the weapon that makes the killing blow, so if you're better with S-port weapons, you can use those to whittle down the target and then just finish them off with the L-port (probably a Plasma Eliminator MkII, since you're at license 2 already; you could buy some Mega Positron Blasters off another player pretty cheap though).

If you can't get a Mega Positron Blaster from somebody who can buy them, Just use a Plasma Eliminator MkII, like Pizzasgood said. It's good against most easy-intermediate bots. You should be able to knock over plenty of assault bots with one.
I do have a MPB in the L slot of my Rev MKIII. I think the problem is that the bots I keep finding only give 20+ to Heavy Weapons. Logged in quickly and saw that Bractus and Pelatus are neutral space. Every time I go there I get popped so I will have to find another solution, hmm...
Thank you for the suggestions though.

Try taking out a Queen and her Escorts - the rewards are nice and at times the Escorts are not hostile.
Solo and Queen and the reward is like 2,000 point on license you make the kill with. Ask around, I feel sure you can find someone to teach/train you in taking out the Queens and how to find them.

Do Intermediate Combat Practice and kill TyCorp Assaults, they give 210XP . You can find them in Azek.
Of course you get popped, you're flying a revenant that's like driving an old t-bird down the highway. Looks like grease lightning but you're not going to beat savets Lotus Elise in a race.
/me grumbles about the inability to paint over the white parts of a Valk with a nice thick shade of yellow.
+1 to Arf, TyCorps in Nyrius is the best way to level early. Another option is Valent Assaults in Verasi, or Hive Skirmish missions. If you're UIT you can find those in Latos, Sedina, and Odia.
Central skirmish, sit 2km from the warp in point of the bots, Assaults give you +450 XP, Guardians +350 and Overseers +550. Hornet Mk3 with 4x Neut2's, Heavy Battery makes short work of them.
Wow! Thank you all for the intel. This will help immensely.
Any ships in particular that will help me in leveling Heavy Weapons at this point? Kierky's suggestion looks like it will powerlevel Light Weapons/Combat quite well. Just curious if anyone has any suggestions for the other licenses?
Thanks again!
p.s. Anyone need a noobish pilot in their numbers? hehe.

Grev,
Message me when I'm on (Aldoss) and I'll hook you up with some mega posi's. I'll take you on a few queen runs and that'll level those licenses super fast.
Normally online around 11pm EST.

You offering that invitation to anyone? I'm plucking along at Levels 3/4/3/4/1 and looking to so I can apply to some anit-pirating guilds (no offense meant to any pirates).
Thanks in advance.
