Need help with this mission
The mission is one of the beginner combat missions. In it I need to kill bots. For 5 kills I get... The problem is I cannot find bots anywhere. I've looked all over at multiple systems. But don't see any. Anyone know where they are?
Bots tend to hang out in asteroid sectors.
I don't know how it works on mobile, but on PC you just hover the mouse over a sector in the nav-map and the game tells you what sorts of bots have been spotted there. That only works for sectors within nation space though. Also, it only works on systems that are not part of the dynamic hive. (The UIT dynamic hive is in Greyspace, so it's not a concern for them. For Serco, that would be Dantia, Rhamus, and Initros. For Itani, it is Cantus, Rhamus, and Setalli Shinas. All the rest of the nation space systems use static hive, the kind that are listed on the map.)
Greyspace has static hive as well (other than Latos, Sedina, and Odia, which are dynamic), but since Greyspace is unmonitored, they aren't listed on the map. You have to locate and identify them yourself.

Very comprehensive answer. Ty!
I did read that in the mission report about hovering ur mouse. But, unfortunately I'm using an iPad and u can't hover :(
I don't see any other way to find them. I did fly to asteroid areas but didn't see any. On other missions u could spawn them. This one doesn't give u the option. Maybe the Dev's didn't develop a way for this mission to work on iPads?

If you go to your Navigation screen and set a nav route, there should be some info that appears in a field in the top right portion of your UI about your destination. Something like:
Sol II System, Sector H-11 (Serco Monitored)
Huaca Asteroid Belt
Bots Sighted: Orun Collector
Tapping on some different sectors should give you an idea of the best spots to look. Some missions, such as Beginner Combat Practice, have been around for years and years before iPads were a thing. Besides some occasional textual archaisms, however, all missions should work on all platforms.

Mmm... I did see that text. When clicking on a sector, it did say someone (maybe a guard?) saw bots. Unless that was the name of the bot? Where these guards or bots are hanging out idk. I did fly all around the sector though, constantly clicking my target button, but to no avail.
Station Guards hang out around station sectors; they enforce the No Fire Zone, and attack anyone who is hated by the faction owning the station. Your 'Target' button defaults to selecting the nearest hostile (you can change this with a long press), so that wouldn't select a Station Guard. You would need to fly to a different sector than one that had Station Guards by warping out, in order to make any progress in Beginner Combat Practice.
Guardians, on the other hand, are powerful Hive ships that should be avoided until you have a few notches on your belt. Same thing with Assaults.

Ok, here's the rub. I went on my PC. Hovered over different sectors. Saw the info that u were talking about. So I jumped to the Orun Collector sector. Killed 20 before I had to return to repair hull. Was fun!
Then I tried the iPad again. Now here's the funny part. It turns out that when I had tried clicking on the different sectors prior, All my clicks must have been on empty sectors. Go figure... Because when I clicked on the sector that I just went to it did show the Orun Collectors. Then I tried going through many sector clicks and low and behold, there were other sectors that had info.
Well, all that to say. Thank you and it's good to know that it does work with an iPad :)
