Hey guys. The print on the chat log was too small to read for me, so I tried going into Options, checked the box that allows u to manually adjust the font I think it was. It had a slide bar, minus - something to +2 I think. I slid it positively a ways, then saved it. Omygosh... Now the whole screen size is too large to see the whole game. And there's no way to get back to the Options to readjust the size because that is off the viewable screen. At this point, there's no way to even play the game. I tried re logging to no avail. Any solutions?

Go to wherever the Vendetta folder is on your computer (it's the same place this post says to create the plugins folder in) and find the config.ini file. The setting is defined in there somewhere, so you could open it in a text editor and change it. I think the line you're looking for is the "fontscale=" line. More generally, when you have a configuration problem, you can always revert the game to defaults by deleting the config.ini file (and sometimes wgaf.cfg, if there are problems with your binds as well).

Mmm... Pizza :) Thanks for the reply. I should have said that I did this, and am playing on an iPad 2. So there is no configuration files for this.

I'm not sure if this problem is on mobile or not, but if so you would have to hook your phone up to a laptop to do what Pizzasgood suggests, I think. MicroUSB to USB, probably. If your phone company is worth its salt your device should have come with one.

edit: ah, iPad... I have very little experience there, sadly. On a Mac desktop you can do "show package contents" to get to the config.ini, perhaps there is some way to get this same option on an iPad?

Ok, I tried deleting the app from my iPad. Reinstalled. Now my characters are gone. Geez... I also tried installing it on my PC. No characters there either

deletng the app doesnt delete your characters...log in with the same account.

If you for some reason made a new account and forgot the original then yea you're probably boned.

Character data is stored server-side, to prevent hacking (among other things). There is probably some Lua magic that happens once you log in and 'enter the universe'... meaning if you are going from a newly installed client it may not show your character data up front until you log in and actually start playing.

I've noticed this when switching platforms; if I play on my phone for a while then switch over to my laptop, on the character select screen the game will show my characters' ships from the last time I logged in on laptop, not the ones I used while on my phone.

Deleting your app wouldn't delete your characters. Like CrazySpence wrote, the only way this would happen is if you made a new account and lost the old one.

Galaxyhunter, we responded to you through your support tickets. Please check that you received the emails. If not, try checking your spam folder.

What happened was that the iPad (and Android and WinStore) versions can create an auto-generated account with an auto-generated password so the player can get into the game quickly.
There is the ability to convert that account to a new username and password that the player would know.
But if that isn't done, then deleting the app will delete the auto-generated username and password, making it impossible to recover from the player's device.

Thanks Raybondo..I'm betting that's what happened. I bought it through iTunes which did give me the ability to get into the game quickly. That would also make sense as to why when I logged in with this login on my PC it showed a new account. It was not realizing that it was an iTunes account. Then by deleting it from my iPad, it again was a new account. I'll read your replies and get back with u.

For those that have been following this post, support was able to recover my characters. I can log in now and screen resolution is back to normal.
