Hah. Man, that's live already? I was so busy, I didn't really have much time for practice and run-throughs and the like. It was supposed to be longer, but I didn't go as deep into some topics as I intended.
Still out in CA, flying back tomorrow. So far it seems like things went pretty well, although it remains to be seen what pans out and what does not.

Any word on when that big news update about new 'roid textures and procedural fields is coming?
My hands have been full. Lots of post-GDC, plus I got sick while I was out there (yay). But I'm aiming for soon. Maybe this coming week if all goes well, but we'll see.
coolio
Get well soon Inc.
I'm beginning to see a pattern here Incarnate. You go away to a conference and come back sick. Did you forget to get your malaria vaccination before you left?
Half the people who go to GDC come home sick. :(
GDC is the goddamn nexus of global virus propagation. Last year I was down for a month after that show. Some other people claim that CES is worse, but I've managed to luck out so far in that case.
This year I took every precaution I could (careful with hands, lots of hand-washing, various vitamins and so on), but part of the problem is just the long days. The "parties" at night are really important business-development, so you end up being out until like 1-2AM, and then having to get up early the next day. Lots of 18+ hour days tends to make one pretty tired, which then results in getting sick. I feel even worse for all the european and asian people who roll in super jet-lagged to begin with.
I would be fine with skipping the parties, but they really are useful. I made useful business contacts there I would never have met otherwise.
(PAX actually became infamous as a CDC-noted H1N1 hotspot, a few years ago. Which resulted in actual recommendations against shaking hands at the conference).

You're going about it ALL WRONG incarnate. You should be showing up to these game development conferences IN COSTUME.
It's the perfect solution to alleviating the social awkwardness of wearing a preventative face masks and the like. For example, you could go as Sub Zero from Mortal Kombat:
See, it's the perfect balance between being on-theme, attracting attention to yourself and your product and preventing the transmission of airbourne pathogens.

Space suit helmet!
you probably get sick because of the 18 hour days, I usually only get sick despite facing months of sick and disgusting snotty children after a week of limited rest.
How is that different from what Incarnate does
Yeah, if I went as an astronaut, that would allow total coverage.
You could go as a serco!
HAH!
LOL! TRS. but where's the toaster? :-)
Feeling better yet, John?
I'm back in San Francisco again. Very sudden trip (and obviously not something I'd do lightly, from either a time or money standpoint).
So, basically, as soon as I was feeling better I had to immediately go immerse myself in another cauldron of disease somewhere.
Ironically, I'm doing ok, but poor Curt is sick as hell, back in Milw.
Anyway, I will post something more meaningful when I get a chance.

I think a biohazard suit might be a good investment for Guild Software.
