Up vote from me but consider a free to play system. I loved this game as Homestar Runner [EiG] in beta

Anyone else get a chuckle out of this?

Congratulations.

Now, to be *that* guy, is there going to be any change to how we access the game? I'm not going to be required to make a Steam account if I want to re-sub, am I?

I ask because, after taking a look at the Greenlight page, you say that you're planning on integrating SteamWorks.

I'm a little worried about this, actually, because it's so easy to get forgotten on Steam these days. I think it may have come a little early, and that there might be benefits to waiting for 1.9 to come out before going through with the Steam launch. It's something you'll only get to do once.

No, the Steam version will be for Steam users. We aren't going to require all people to use Steam.

Umm, if you check out the announcement I made on Greenlight yesterday, we aren't exactly rolling out the game immediately.

This has definitely not come early, it's going to take us months to just slot-in the integration time for all the various.. steam-isms (especially if we want to do in-app-purchase), while maintaining our current development schedule.

That doesn't really address the point I thought UD was making; where is VO going to be in __ months and how will that be significantly different from now? Because I don't see the status quo being interesting enough to make Steam launch a wise idea.

Of course, if it's more or less now or never, now is a great time.

It was directly addressed in the post that I referenced and linked when responding to him. I figured people could.. click on that and read it. But, if not, I also include the lines:

"At this point, I can't say exactly when we're going to launch on Steam; we would like to add support some of the cooler features of Steamworks, and we want the launch to coincide with some new graphics, gameplay and other changes we have in development, to make our Steam debut as polished as possible."
