Warp Kills?

Ok I got 3 warp kills today. I seem to remember that you couldn't kill people as they warp.
Did something change?

You can damage people as they jump out, but not as they are jumping in. If it has been changed, the change happened at least four years ago, because it has been like this for as long as I've been playing.

This got changed years ago, as a way to reduce the ability to be a running little bitch. As I recall, this may be a problem for JB.

DUDES!
I thought i was a little protected with jump outs. So what are the rules? I was warp killed like 4 times today. # serco scum and one bot. Is there any delay or can any pirate/serco warp kill you and steal your cargo?
Ok I might not remember my full almost 10 years in this game. But i thought jump outs were protected. Am I wrong? If so when did it change?

Pizzasgood pretty much covered it. Jump-ins are protected, jump-outs are not. Be careful of who's within weapons range when you jump.

Jestastis while you are warping out you can be killed by players. Bots usually aren't good enough to kill you while warping

This changed maybe 5-6 years ago or so, maybe more, but definitely within the last 10. The making warp ins invulnerable was a recent step back to how it used to be.

I don't believe bots/turrets/etc can hurt you on the out-jump... players can for sure.

Yeah, the CTC escort can definitely kill you on your way out. Same goes for border turrets -- I've been killed by missile turrets while diving into a wormhole more times than I want to remember. I do think there are some bots that stop attacking once you initiate a jump, but I don't remember which kind they are (static hive?). I'm not aware of any that keep shooting but magically stop doing damage.

It sucks. I will be aware of it now. I don't mind being killed but from 100% to 0 in the few seconds it takes me to warp sucks. And now i need more valks to even catch the convoy. (which means i'll be getting my Itani standing back up, so i can get valks again :( ) And watch out for noobs/serco trying to stop me by shooting while i jump.
Forget me doesn't this also make it harder for traders trying to get away from pirates?

Jestatis that was the idea. Yes it makes it harder to run, but its balanced. If you're close enough to an enemy when you warp out for them to kill you on 100%, then you deserve to die.

Well, conq station turrets don't hurt on warp out in a storm, and neither do random storm hive bots.

I honestly cannot remember any time when players were ever immune from other players at any point during the warp-out/jump-out animation, but I'm not entirely sure.

Bots cannot damage you during a (sector-to-sector) jump animation, but can damage you during a (system-to-system) warp animation.

I'm pretty sure in the alpha universe you were invulnerable during jumps.

It was changed so that you're vulnerable during jumps in Vendetta version 1.2.5.2, which was somewhere around 2005-08-19 according to my historical information.

Incidentally, that's the same version where they got rid of the cool high-speed in-system jump effect and replaced it with the current "temporary" copy of the inter-system warp effect.
