New Forum Features
Just a heads-up, we changed some aspects of the Forum recently:
1) We finally fixed the unterminated-font issues, so things like italics and bold will not carry on through the rest of the thread.
2) We've quickly swapped in basic Google searching, with optional Forum-specific selection, on the Search page. I left the original search system on there as well, just in case. We'll eventually put some forum-specific search entry areas on each respective forum page, that are prettier and more integrated with layout, but this was quick to do for now.
3) We're adding a lot more fine-grained control over muting on the forums. Per-thread, per-forum, and across all forums (but not in the game). Right now we just have per-thread, so I can limit the ability of someone to contribute to the same given thread.
When we add the other features, we can mute them per-forum as well, so if someone has a history of posting undesirably to General, but makes useful contributions to Suggestions, this could be applied.
I will begin using these features in the near future, in cases where people are being overly melodramatic, dragging things off topic, being overtly abusive and nasty, or generally clogging up the signal-to-noise ratio of discussion.
We have a lot of people who care deeply, about the game as a whole, about their own particular style of play within the game, and so on, and it's great that people are passionate. But I have very limited time I can spend on here (and in general), and if people want their words to affect change, then speak mainly to the specific problem and how it might be addressed, and not to.. however unhappy you may feel about that problem, or the history of that problem, or whatever else. The more extraneous BS I have to wade through, the less likely we are to resolve the actual issue.. and generally speaking, we want to improve things for everyone and resolve issues. So, help me.. to help everyone :).

Cool. Can we get rid of the feature that prevents us from bumping old threads? It looks like threads get locked down after 6 months. There are sometimes legitimate reasons to post in threads that are more than 6 months old.

Strat: as of an hour or so ago, any PCC member should now be able to post to threads older than 6 months old (thus "reviving" the thread for everyone else). That should at least mitigate the situation a bit.

Change that to "only people who've actually subscribed ever" and it gains my vote.
I will never understand people who think that players should cut off completely from a game (even on the forums) if they haven't put money in. I've even seen it suggested on F2P games.
