Any releasable info on how the TTS differs from the TTM?
My build is nearing completion, and I'd like to have some idea if I want to wait for the TTS, or go a head with a TTM.
Cheers,
Faille.

From the screenshots, you can tell it's at least got a different turret configuration. I'm interested in seeing what the addon ports and specs of it are too.
Can we disassemble our type Ms and use the parts toward the type s?
Yes it's possible with the mission system, I have a long standing prototype dissasemble mission I can push for release when Type S comes out
TRS does not get to say whether there will or will not be a dis-assembly option.
Among other things, we're allowing capships to be shared to other key-holders. Wouldn't it be great to loan your friend your ship and then find they sold it for scrap? (it's not like dis-assembly would be covered by Insurance, that would make it a magical capship-duping feature). I'm not sure how all the mechanics of this will work out yet. The mission system doesn't yet have any specialized parameter to know who "owns" a capship yet, and for that matter, we're still figuring out how to know that ourselves.
The stats and specs of the Type S are still in flux. I haven't gotten to actually use the thing yet, for one. I have some notes on my goals for the two variants, but I'm just not comfortable making promises yet.
Sorry I can't be more forthcoming yet. As soon as they're more solidified, I'll make some sort of post about it, I understand the desire to have a "target" for your Manufacturing process.

edited for clarification.
Also the mission system uses flags it only displays the disassemble mission if you have the insurance flag. So I don't think it's a huge leap for me to say it's possible unless you change the way the variants work.

That wouldn't prevent the scenario Inc describes if you loaned it to somebody who already had a capship of their own (and therefor an insurance flag of their own).
We are changing the way everything works. We've never had a persistent, share-able ship in the game.

I think the key based persistent ship is a great idea. I'd rather see that than a way to scrap a ship.
Do try to re-work the key system before attempting that. Permissions are kind of moot with there only being a single user key. Having to give an owner key to allow capship control also lets that person hand out more owner keys compromising access to your ship until it either gets killed or /exploded so you can make a new key.

I think Yoda might have something to say about that.

Incarnate is altering the deal. Pray he does not alter it further... *mechanical breathing*

Heh , Espionage/TRS doesn't even play.
Really Inc go for change. Half the fun of vo is responding to change. Stuff changes, we have to work out new ways of still doing well in a dynamic universe. If it all stayed the same we would have given up years ago.

Eh, just let people transfer actual ownership of their Tridents (including insurance policy, if that is retained past the everything-changes storm). Then people who want a different Trident can try trading theirs with somebody else who has the newer one (or arrange a deal where somebody who is building a trident and wants a Type M builds a Type S instead, and then swaps it with a Type M owner, so that everybody is happy).
Hehe, all I wanted to find out was will the TTS be faster/slower, have more/less cargo/turrets/armour/bars etc. and how many unicorns it comes with. Just a basic comparison to the TTM so I can decide which to build. I wasn't after hard and fast stats or specifics.
Since the Tardis hangerbay has gone, I'm not even sure yet what I want to DO with a TT? now.
Faille.

I just want to know one thing... Will it have a rear-facing turret?
What is EFO1?
Some stupid Unicode character my phone decided to cough up. No idea.
Or just tie the ship ownwership to the key itself and vica versa... If the ship gets disassembled by the owner then the key dissappears as well.
Insurance and disassembly would be permitted to owners key holders only...
You might also look at creating a separate group owner aspect to the key

Just realised this looks a bit like the linux system.
