X52/X52 Pro Owners
Hello,
Picked up an x52 pro for a good price at microcenter. I was wondering if anyone might have some advice for layouts and options for this insane controller.

Congrats on the purchase.
I have the 3 triggers (well, 2 triggers, 3 positions) set to shoot 1, 2, and 3, and one of the hats for lateral movement, and the other hat for various targeting methods. On the throttle, I have one of the thumb buttons for brake (since you can't really slow yourself down with the actual throttle in non-F/A mode), and I have the throttle 'scrollwheel' set to next and previous target for the 'Targetless' plugin, and clicking that wheel swaps the target lists. The hat on the throttle I use to enable afterburner. Then, on the joystick, I have button A set to 'activate' warps/jumps, B to target what's in front of me, and C for 'zoom'. I love this setup!

I seem to do better if I put strafing and targeting on the left and the rest on the right. I dont like roll on the twist tho. I tend to activate it to easily.
I have it set up something like this:
Stick-
First click on trigger: fire primary
Second click: fire tertiary
(I usually use this for chainfiring without writing complex binds)
Missile button: fire secondary
Fire A: target nearest hostile
Fire B: target object in sights
Fire C: fire tertiary
Toggle switches: various Targetless functions
Upper hat (left right up down): next/prev target, zoom, deselect target
Lower hat (left right up down): change view, toggle Aim Assist, PgUp, PgDn
Twist: roll
Pinky trigger: switches to a Shift state with all fire buttons unbound, effectively acting as a safety
Modes: set up to switch F/A On and Off. Mode 3 is set up as a button to "re-align" things, i.e. if the joystick's in F/A On mode but my actual ship isn't, I can flick it to Mode 3 and everything's good again.
Throttle-
Fire D: turbo
Fire E: Reverse (F/A On), Brake (F/A Off)
Hat: strafes
Slider: engages turbo at 100%
Thumbwheels: unbound
Throttle: axis bound to Throttle, also bound to W (100%) and S (0%) when in F/A Off
