Running away is not winning. Making your enemy flee before you can be considered winning, but successfully running away cannot. So yeah, proms win.

As for me fighting a Valk using a Corvult, I can win fairly consistently if I actually care (i.e. if I don't just charge straight at them in my typical self-destructive fashion, eating every flare). The Corvult is a superior ship in a straight-up fight, though only by a very slim margin.

"Ultimatum" is not the correct term. You probably meant "stipulation".

Anyway, not a lie. There are two different ways to dodge flares. One is boring and effective. The other is exciting and highly dangerous. I usually use the latter, because games like VO are supposed to be fun and exciting, not boring. I could use the other and be a lot more effective.

Ships have limited energy generation. That means that as you equip additional energy weapons, you get diminishing returns on how much they actually help. You have to actually know what you're doing to make effective use of three energy weapons (the key is thinking in terms of burst damage rather than DPS like most ninnies). Yes, it can still give them an edge, but the Corvult's thinner profile gives it a much better edge, and the higher strafe speed puts it over the edge. Sure, the Valk has more armor. It needs it, because it's a fucking potato. You're better off not getting hit at all and having less armor -- and not getting hit is the Corvult's specialty (nimble + thin = hammer-time).

I won't deny that the Valk is a better general purpose ship than the Corvult, but if you think it is better in a 1v1 fight, you're on crack.

DE-A, his troll comment could just have easily been referring to ryan, for example. But it sounds like somebody has a guilty conscious.

Anyway, the next time you see somebody consistently winning in a Valk vs. a Corvult, get them to swap ships for a while and see what happens. Most likely they were winning because they were simply a better pilot, not because of the ship. Oh, and make sure it's an energy-Valk, since you apparently don't think flares are relevant.
