What's with the funky exclamation points? The only concept drawings that have been released publicly are the ones of the current nation specials. They can be found on Vendetta's official website or on Waylon's website.

I don't think we need to support 8mb cards anymore, I mean, if you're gaming with something like that, you're not expecting much anyways......
Down with old video cards!

No, old video cards should be supported. Maybe a toggleable thing, that gives you the option of prettier or faster on bad machines. The more people who can run Vendetta, the better.
By the time the game is actually released though, the old video cards will be obsolete. They should support them for now, but definitely look towards slowly phasing them out.
If you look at the system requirements of the official Vendetta page, it does mention that the minimum requirements are 32 MB of VRAM. However, I've gotten it to run on 16 MB VRAM on my iBook last year. And I'm sure others have run it on on 8 MB and even 6 MB of VRAM!
In any case, I doubt the devs will dump the option of allowing us to set the game at the lowest texture setting or lowest scene level of detail or whatever. Why would they? But hey, you have to understand that 95% of the current ships are low polygon models. Eventually they'll reach the detail of the current special ships, and even lowering the detail settings may not be enough in some cases.
We'll probably also see more and more city stations cropping up in each sector. So if your computer is choking on s9, except for the known ATI bugs, you may want to consider purchasing a better computer. The reality of it is, any game that's being developed nowadays will try to catch up to the latest technologies during the time of concept to gold master status. That will ultimately have an effect on future system requirements.

I believe the excus...err...reason was that they took up too much tex memory.
They're old. They look good from far away, but if you squint you'll notice they're all chunky and low poly. But I agree that they look cool overall. Anyway, I like the idea of city stations more. There's more variety and function to it than the ones in this gallery.
Ummmm, why haven't we got these stations:
