What is the advantage of the Maud now. As a special it should have as much advantage over the Centaur as the Valk does over the Vult or Hornet. Its a bit better fighter of course then the Cent but as for trading...what advantages does a 30k ship have for most players over the cent?

It's faster and has 3 small weapon slots but thats not worth 30k especially when the maud is supposed to be a trading ship.

Ummm it's the best trading ship right before the bus. And if you're telling me that the bus is as close to the maud as the vult is to the valk you're crazy. Adding two cargo slots to the cent makes it no less pirate bate. The maud is still the most broken special.

Faster than the Centuar, Atlas, and EC88 (fastest trading ship)
Better armed than the Bus, Atlas, and arguably the Centuar.
Better armoured than the bus, the Atlas, and has as much armor as the Centuar.

Remember, when trading, time is money. The Marauder is also the perfect pirating ship. As much weapons as the Valk and as much cargo space when the Centuar. When I put it that way I wonder why I'm not an NT pilot..... :-\

The centaur has more armor, bigger guns ( i think..), a lower price tag, and as much cargo. WTF? the maruad is no longer very "special"

Actually, the Marauder has 14000k hull and the Centaur has 16000k hull, so it has less than the Centaur. I still prefer the Marauder over the Centaur in trading since it is the fastest trading ship as already said.

ok ok.... so it's slightly less. But remember that the maneuverability is worth twice as much as armor.

The most efficient tradeship, and it can actually put up a decent fight against pirates unlike the other trade ships. I still think the Centaur needs to haul at least 20 cargo though. Just to make it fair.

the Marauder* (notice the correct spelling please!) can fly circles around a Centuar all day.

Remember, maneuverability = 2(armor)

Ahhhh... the Marauder redux thread. I'd like to emphasize again that speed will be a main issue when the dynamic economy kicks in. As a trader you want to outrun your opponents so you'll get more money before the station has too much of that particular resource. As a result I think the Marauder should be a very agile and fast ship (around Warthog or Vulture), but with very little hull (maybe even as low as the Centurion). It looks like it's built for speed, but it doesn't look very durable.

Arolte it's broken enough as is.

The centaur is the second slowest ship, barely beating the rag. It is therefore easy for any other ship to chase, catch, and kill.

More guns/hull doesn't mean it's better at trading, or fighting. Take for example the hornet. It's easy to take it out in a vult without getting hit (Arolte pls. nothing off topic, I 100% agree with you about the hornet).

PS. maud is a perfectly legit abr. for marauder containing only letters from the original word, in the same order as they are found and most importantly easy to identify.
