People write essays on the SC forums about so-called 'griefing'. It's a pretty entrenched MMO culture. I'm very appreciative that we have VO as this little haven that actually puts the possibility for meaningful role-play before pandering to the whims of people that waltz in and make themselves victims.

This isn't cyber-bullying, racism, sexism, misogyny or homophobia we're talking about here, this is blowing up your internet spaceship. The correct response is to explain it in Mecha's terms, not introduce "PvP encounter sliders" or "Report a Player" systems.

No, wait, a report a player system would be perfect! Have a big old obvious button and everything, easy for newbs to do. Then have a leaderboard on the website labeled "Top Ten Baddest Spacedudes" that shows the people with the most votes! Everybody is happy!
