Well if it's not offensive to you, I guess I can't be offended for your sake, nevermind then.

(That said, however, I would question the wisdom of allowing someone with a "potentially offensive char" to keep it even if the person(s) offended were not, as it would tie up admin. It'd be a better policy to delete them regardless of whether the slandered were offended or not.)

I'd take it as a complement. A back handed complement mind you, but a complement non-the-less.
