Greetings VO!
Greetings and a little newbie input.
Just started playing VO a few days ago, (I know, what rock have i been living under right?) Just wanted to say Hi. Not sure if there is already a thread for this but i couldn't find it. I'm a big fan of Sci-Fi (GOOD Sci-Fi) And i actually cant believe i haven't heard of this game sooner, like a year ago i guess.
Anyways i really enjoy the game, im almost out of my free trial and i will definitely subscribe. I really like the immersive story line and noticed a pleasant amount of player chatter in-game. I heard some players discussing concerns of dwindling numbers and i hope that can be averted.
I actually learned about VO on my tablet, (Windows surface RT) when i was browsing the online MS store. (you know how many actually decent games come out for RT? Not many!) Then i found out i could get it for my phone! I was impressed since i have always been against paying for game subscriptions, i thought long and hard about it and did some research. I decided I would go for it for a few reasons. If im going to pay for a game subscription, then i should be able to play the game as often as i want. well that problem is almost non-existent here, all i need is any one of my devices and some internet easy fix. I'm a huge fan of sci-fi space sim games too, and i was worried that my outdated PC would have trouble running this game. after a few tweaks the game ran fine and still looks great. I have also noticed a lot of Dev involvement with the player base. Those things combined with an outstanding Sci-Fi storyline have brought me in.
sorry for the rant but im enthusiastic about VO and i think that it was an excellent idea to bring VO to phones and tablets. Just wanted to share my gratitude and introduce myself. It's hard to find good games in the genre ya know. anyways happy gaming.

Welcome to VO!
That was funny I just passed you in-game.
Yeah the VO is quite a good value as far as subscriptions go, and it's supporting an innovative indie studio which has so much more value. Also you get to talk to the people you're paying and they talk back a lot of the time.
Enjoy yourself! \o/

Players aren't dwindling at all. The people who think that are ignorant landlubbers :P
Have fun, go mad!

Don't listen to idd, we have Valkyries.
Nice to hear from someone who gets it right off the bat. Welcome to VO, Tash. May your 'roids be cool and your markets hot.

well, an example of GOOD Scifi would be Isaac Asimov, as far as literature goes, or even H.G. Wells if you want to dig. Alien was a great sci-fi movie, but AVP2 (requiem) was absolutely Terrible. Metropolis is great, if you dont mind silent films. Oh, and lets not forget Blade Runner, one of my personal favs. Good Sci-fi should be more than just freaky science and monsters and wierd stuff. you gotta tie it together with a good storyline and ideas that are somewhat plausible. ever hear the phrase "Science fiction often leads to science fact"? You know there is actually research being conducted on warp drive propulsion today? http://spaceref.com/nasa-hack-space/propulsion/clarifying-nasas-warp-drive-program.html and you can thank star trek for that one. another example of GOOD Sci Fi.
Right now im getting into Post Apocalyptic stuff. i would recommend Metro 2033 by Dmitry Glukhovsky as a good example for the genre, im reading it now. anyways i could go on, but this topic should probably be in a separate thread.
oh, and thanks for the warm welcomes folks. :)
