List of # of prospecting missions per system?
Hi there, new player started earlier this week on Android. Started doing the prospecting missions and just made a spreadsheet with all the systems in a map format to keep track of what systems I've done.
I know total there's 30 systems and 120 missions with an average of 4 per system, but after finishing 2 UIT systems I've only got 7 missions done, so it must not always be 4. Just wondering, does anyone happen to have a list of all the systems with the number of prospecting missions in each? Can't believe this information isn't on the wiki.
If nobody has this, I will have to keep track as I do them and once I have Master Prospector I can update the wiki and release my spreadsheet for the use of others.

Hi.
The prospecting missions are weird, not only are they 4 missions per system average, it IS 4 missions per system.
Basically here's the guide:
1. Choose a station in a selected system.
2. Complete that same mission until it is no longer available in that station (this indicates that you have cleared the system of the prospecting missions, also some mission text will let you know).
3. Move on to the next system, and go to Step 1.
Eventually you'll get to something like 110 missions completed, and you may have missed a few.
When you clear a system thereafter, it'll tell you which system you should next go to (a system with missions not complete).
I haven't done these missions in a long time, yet I'm pretty damn sure it hasn't changed.
It actually has nothing to do with how many stations are in a system.

I have only completed 7 prospecting missions according to my character log, but neither Dau nor Azek systems will give me any more. I just flew to both and double checked I cannot get any more prospecting missions there.
I believe I did 3 in Dau and 4 in Azek. I can see in mission logs that twice I was told to go to Dantia to get more missions. Unfortunately the logs don't seem to give starting locations, so I can't tell which of the 7 came from which systems.

Doesn't it update when you log out and back in?
Kierky is wrong. My recollection is that there can be 3 to 5 prospecting missions in a given system. Systems with less variety of ores have fewer missions available.
I don't have a complete list for all systems, and I don't recall seeing anyone else ever post one. If you make your own list, you might want to keep track of which ores are needed in a given system as well.

I agree with meridian: it's 3 to 5 per system. Sorry it was so long ago, i don't have data on how many missions each system had. Suffice it to say, those 120 missions are the first step into your lifelong pursuit to fill in that spreadsheet....
Does the scan count reset after a day? ie:Roids that have been scanned can be rescanned the next day?
Or is it persistent?
I've been trying to use the targetless plugin to help me complete these, however haven't figured out how to get the "targetnextunscannedasteroid" button to work.

Great idea, just added new sheet to my spreadsheet to keep track of this, and even what sector in that system is good for the mission. Originally I assumed it would be random. Perhaps not.

I pretty much assumed it's persistent, I don't see why they would let you rescan any roids.
I have been using Targetless and the "unroid" button to do this. It makes it ridiculously easy in places you haven't scanned that you know have that mineral. In places you HAVE scanned, however, it makes it almost impossible unless you feel like manually targeting. I guess you COULD set the list length to 30, sort by % of that mineral, and fly around from #1-#30, but you'll do a LOT of backtracking around asteroids 3000-5000m apart instead of hitting clusters that are 600m apart.
To get the keybind:
In the chat box type /targetless
Go to Controls
Custom
bottom command is unroid, set that to whatever (I use z), then hit Set Custom at the bottom.

Heh yeah cool. Did those missions like 5 years ago..
It's too bad in targetless you can't isolate your mineral/ore you'd scanned and sort by distance. P.S. thanks for the info about targetless.
Yes you can actually, you press p or whatever to scroll and sort by ore, then it sorts by distance.
lol
lol
I'll give that a try, thought I tried to sort, but it only sorted the ores and included ores I wasn't looking for in the listing and didn't seem to sort by distance, I'll take a better look. Now if you can tell me that there is a way to isolate scanning using unroid between rock and ice/crystal, I'd really be happy.
