Bots

Oct 12, 2003 Suicidal Lemming link
Why i like bots: They are always there, provide a relative challenge, and give you something to do without them holding a grudge.

Why i dislike bots: They can be a pain because they don't act human, as in:
They don't have a preferred weapon and usage tactic.
They don't flee from a battle.
They don't need to trade.
They don't hold a grudge.
They don't try to rally up other bots to go after you.
They (usually) don't make mistakes, but when they do they tend to be pretty stupid ones.
They don't have a variety of thinking as in, bounty hunter, pirate, trader, enforcer, etc. This would be nice because having high bounties would be more dangerous, being in a trade ship would be more dangerous, attacking all the bots would be more dangerous (doing all of those would be really dangerous).
I'll expand on this idea.
Bounty hunters, only go after people with a high enough bounty, enforcer bots would tend not to go after them but wouldn't hesitate to attack them, have nice ships usually designed for a quick kill (vulture, warthog, valkyrie)
Pirates, only go after traders, enforcer bots usually pick on these guys, fairly good ships designed to carry cargo and to fight well (centurion (i think), wraith, prometheus).
Traders, cruise from one sector to another, don't fight back, enforcer bots might assign one light armed ship to help them, ships usually come with mines and can carry a lot of cargo (atlas, centurion (i think), and marauder).
Enforcers, patrol the station and wormholes, will help other enforcers if needed, fighter\bomber ships (valkyrie, prometheus, wraith, vulture)

Now, obviously a valkyrie is better then a vulture and etc. Remember an idea i said a ways back? Bounty sensitive bots, the higher the bounty the better a ship, this is so that bots that last longer will get better ships because of the savings they have, along with better weapons. Trader bots' bounty would increase over time depending on successful trade runs and profits. (yes i know none of this will be implemented 'soon', just a brain storm)

I don't like the idea of bots actively hunting players. It just gets to be a huge pain in the bum after a while.

I respect those 75 bots more than most players, oh well.

yes i have to agree with Lemming... i dont like bots that have a 105 bounty and started at 75 because some noob wanted to go to war with them

*hints to the itani noobs who used to let Opal get to 105c*

i would like to see an "upgrade" for a lower bot to get a better ship when the reach a platform of bounty. not to mention that i would like to see a bot that would get its health back after not being shot at or having to engage someone for a period of time. i know i know i want a lot but it would be nice to see some stuff like this introduced. though it would be a long time if it would get introduced i wouldnt hesitate to have fun with it...

Ehh, it seems to me that a lot of the bots i run into are nicer then the majority of red players... Sometimes smarter too...

ok lets not go to an insult war here, if you have some kind of idea to improve bots it would be appreciated but lets not call names or anything...
