Oh, my best moment in VO? Really hard to pick.
I guess my all time fav was when I made that un-named family rage quit in 2004ish. They were all cuddled nice and tight together inside a big rock in Edras exploiting something that was called crack-botting.
Dr. Lector had already told me the best way to deal with this menace, so I lined up my rocket rag from far far away, and killed the entire family of crack heads in one shot. It was beautiful. Whining was had by all but me. I laughed, and laughed, and laughed.

Oh how I wish they'd never changed the bot AI that caused the Edras crack (and a handful of others) to work as they did. Sure it was an exploit of the botting XP system, but it was so much fucking FUN!
Almost as much fun as catching people crackbotting and destroying them with MGC barrages from afar.

A big part of the reason why we disabled the crackbotting was actually because the collision load on those bots was playing havoc with the server. It was resulting in something undesirable, I don't really remember the specifics. Anyway, we have a lot more capacity now, not to mention a threaded physics engine on the server and so on.. so I would not be opposed to adding some form of "crack-botting" (probably need a better name ;) back in as an actual gameplay.. mechanic. People are welcome to start up a related Suggestions thread.
Hey! eye on the prize, go do a dozen other things first!

Started playing last night. This game has one of the clearest series of introduction missions I've played through. I got up to speed super fast with the controls, menus, and story, and never felt lost! I already used up my 8 hours and needed to buy a month just to see how the game pans out :)
Only worrisome thing is it feels like credits are so easy to come by. I racked up hundreds of thousands in no time and have nothing expensive to save them for that I can see, so the whole element of acquiring wealth isn't exciting as a new player so far.
Really happy with the controls, selection of mission, and combat action!

Things get more expensive when you start establishing weapon stockpiles or paying other people to haul things for you, but yeah, currently there aren't many good money sinks.
Welcome MeteoV. You'll want those credits when you get involved in station conquests and bartering with other players. To give you an idea; I have an item in my inventory right now (samoflange) I've heard appraised at 10 million credits.
I agree this kind of thing should be more visible to new players, and I've suggested one possible implementation (feel free to add to that thread, if you like).
I think there will probably be more visible money sinks as Vendetta moves toward version 1.9.

What you get for escorting varies depending on what's in the convoy you're escorting, how many and what size ships are being escorted, what type of systems you have to escort through, and how far you have to go.
I imagine that the convoy for which you received 230k was carrying goodies that I could have, uh, liberated and sold for at least 10x that amount. So, you served your purpose and were rewarded accordingly. Such a good little cog!

My fav moment was a NW awhile back where towards the end only I, Strat, and Denji remained fighting for our respective sides. Strat, and Denji were both at 40% plus I was down 20% they tried to take me out first but I ended up winning by the skin of my teeth and it felt fucking awesome.
