What is deneb

I see talk of deneb and mission battles

How do you get these battles ?

Deneb is a system, bordering between the Serco and Itani nations.
To get access to the Border Skirmish missions in Deneb, you need to sign up for the military of one of the two nations. Any barracks station of either nation offers the mission that lets you join.

If there's none of the opposing team on the same mission as you, give a taunt on ch100. You never know what kind of trouble might show up! :)

I cannot find anything to join the military

You need combat lvl 3 to take the mission. (it won't show up till then anyway)

ok thanks that is what they told me in the game chat too

what is the best way to get to level 3 ?

Beginner Combat Practise
Intermediate Combat Practise
Advanced Combat Practice

and, whenever you want some distraction:
The Gauntlet
Rogue Hive Queen...
...and all the other missions filed under the "combat" section of the mission board.

ok thank you

i finally got to deneb i figured out that beginner gives a lot more combat points and I finally was able to get to combat 3, but really you only have to finish combat 2 which is 5000 points and they give you combat 3
seems like they are missing combat level 0

when I got to this fighter skirmish there was nothing there and the missions says something like 0 casualties left before retreat or something like that
so I took another fighter skirmish and this one had a lot of computer ships but I didn't see anyone else on my list
how do I see if anyone else is in the battles

and now it says 1 hour left on trial account

When looking at the various skirmishes listed on the mission board, the ones that have humans involved will have an indicator. If I remember right, that indicator is an * in the little description under the title.

That only tells you if there's meat on the enemy side. To find out if there's any allied players on your team, you have to take the mission and look at the group list.

Combat level 0 isn't missing. It's during the training missions. Once you pass the basic flight test, you get combat level 1 as part of the mission reward.

i didn't even know about levels during training so this makes sense about level 0
thanks

i'll try to find some players thanks

If there's nobody in the missions, start taunting the other team on ch100. Sometimes people will show up for the fight. :)

A lot of players have an alt they keep around up there just to play the skirmish missions when there's a lot of action.

I got another trial account and I was in this fighter mission again
This time ships were bouncing all over the place like they would disappear and reappear. Then all the sudden there was like 4 of them all shooting me at the same time but they didn't cause any damage to me. That was good because I thought I would be dead when they swarmed me like that.
But I think something was wrong because I could not see them and they would disappear and reappear all over the place so there was no way to shoot them
They didn't cause any damage but something didn't look right
I think I'll buy a month but I want to play some trials some more first

Sounds like a latency issue; are you playing over wifi? 3G? 4G? Cable? You can test your connection by typing "/ping" into the chat bar.
