Linux visual quality
Hi, I've decided to take the plunge into the Linux world.
I've had a small issue with Vendetta. The display depth seems to be stuck at 1024x768@60hz max, how would I go about getting it higher? Also, half of the graphics options I had under windows are simply not there! What's going on!?

The resolution/refresh issue lies with the sort-of-there driver support for your graphics card. The drivers aren't complete for Linux, thus your problems with resolution. The options problem is with DirectX vs. OpenGL, which is being currently flamebroiled in the "next update" topic.
Funny, i prefer the Linux visuals.... Seem crisper and smoother...
Um... To run higher than that, your X Session has to be running higher. Vendetta cannot run higher than the X session does. Therefore, if you're in X at 1024x768, Vendetta must be 1024x768 or lower. Ditto for the refresh rate.
Oh fine, poke holes in my tech-gasm.

hmm, i suppose i'll have to dig around and find that elusive X11conf file or whatever it's called...
I'll save you the trouble. It's either "/etc/X11/XF86Config" or "/etc/X11/XF86Config-4". Before you go editing that, what distro are you using? Maybe your distro has an easy configuration tool...
maybe you should take this to the Linux forum
just a thought :)
just a thought :)
Redhat8.
Also, UT has the same issue with textures...
Both games run much better than windows, but textures are low-res and very washed out, any ideas?
