Question regarding updates
I understand the the graphic artist you hired has been busy updating existing aspects of VO, and I think we are generally quite pleased with the results. Is your intention to merely give VO a facelift, or will you be introducing any new content (i.e. NEW ships/weapons/stations)?
I understand the whole baby-steps thing, but at the rate we are going it's going to take a decade before all the existing content gets "refreshed".
Can the devs shed any light on this?

Christ you're greedy, im just glad shits gettin done for a change
As someone who has worked on projects in the PCC, it's easy to see how frustrating it can be to have something almost ready, but not quite, and hence not be able to release it. The same goes for projects where I work, actually. It kind of flows with the saying "If quality slips, it really doesn't matter how good your ideas were" (forbes). The point is, it takes a lot of patience and time to go through all the required iterations of prototyping etc. before having something tangible. Don't be surprised when the new content hits.

In the suggestions forums there are a number of threads and discussions, some of which I've recently responded to, where I've discussed things we want to and/or plan to add to the game.
Elsewhere (like this thread, still on the front page of the General forum, only a few threads down from this one), I've said that I have no programming resources available, as they're all going into a particular project right now, and will be for some weeks yet. As a result, it is difficult for us to change some of the deeper areas of the game that require maintenance. The engine-threading is one project that's going on, but there's something else unannounced that is sapping most of our resources. This project does have a sunset, although it's over a month behind schedule due to technical problems that cropped up.
From my perspective, adding new "ships/weapons/stations" would be pretty weak for "new content". Honestly, I'd rather do things like fixing crafting-from-inventory or the zillion other areas of clunky gameplay that are in need of improvement. But yes, ships/weapons/stations are coming too, if that's your thing.
In the meantime our artist is updating effects because that's a good training process, requires little to no programmatic involvement, and improves the game.
