framerate graph going 1-1000 good intentions, bad idea.

IT was a great idea guys, just the range is a little wack. I run on 800X600 setting. So getting framerates of about 10 at places would show up as like 6 pixels. Just a little bit small, dont you think? I suggest that the graph be user defined in the options, or lowered to like 1 to 500. BEsides, when has ANYONE gotten 1000 fps in vendetta?

/me points to his G4/400's 32 meg card, in case Camps has any doubts as to whether he should trade it for his G5.

I can hit 1000 if I have everything on the very minimum. And I'm staring into empty space with nothing else around me.

I can hit over 1000 fps if in dock, and sometimes if in space without the max detail on...

getting 10 fps should have the graph at ...
log10(10) = 1

and I divide by 3 because log10(1000) = 3 and I want 1.
so the graph function is:
log10(framerate)/3
so getting 10fps should be 1/3 or .333 which is one third up the screen.

ok,i got ya now. so that's why i was getting framerates that registered around half way sometimes... i was thinkin maybe you added an extra zero in the news.

But how does that tell us anything then? if 10 is 1/3 of the way up... It should just be a nice simple graph like it used to be.. 1 is the very bottem, 100 is 1/10th the way up the screen, 500 is 1/2 of the screen, ect. much easy to keep track of.

Heh, it wasn't really meant for anything other than a dev tool to see spikes or sudden extreme framerate changes that the framerate number filters out. I had thought about putting in some lines and some numbers but it wasn't worth my time.

About the getting 1000 fps - I do every time I dock.
