Advice, please...Where from here?
So far I've managed to dock without denting the station, navigate, mine, freighter and hold my own against collecter bots but not various higher level defenders. My stats are 3/4/3/5/1. I'd like to take on the next level of practice bots and hives with some chance of success. Ship is Rev Mk III, Neut Blasters and Stingray Msl.
Can you recommend what ship and loadout I should go for to continue working against the various Defenders? And where are these available, if known?

If you're Serco or Itani, join the military and head to Deneb to fight in the war. Border Skirmishes are a good way to get XP without going broke, and there may be some PvP experience if players are on the opposing team.
Otherwise, do Hive Skirmish missions.

It's hard to diagnose what areas you could be improving on without seeing you fly in game. Vendetta is far more about player skill and tactics than it is about what equipment you use. The Rev MkIII is well respected in PvP, so you might be able to put some hurt on the bots with it.
If you prefer the heavy ships with higher armor, be economical about your momentum. Don't 'reverse' a dodge, rather try to make one jink flow into the next. Use your firepower to your advantage; bots tend to dodge a steady stream of fire more easily than short bursts, so a low refire / high damage weapon like the Plasma Devastator may be to your benefit. The larger shot size of the PlasDev also makes it easier to score hits. Keep autoaim on, but experiment with toggling between Flight Assist On and Flight Assist Off. Light ships such as the Vulture have a higher capacity to dodge but taking a hit is more serious, therefore it is better to use a light ship only when you feel confident about your ability to dodge.
In a Skirmish it's often helpful to set a nav route out of the combat sector as soon as you jump in (or prior to jumping in using shift-click on a pc) so that you will not have to go to your nav screen if you need to make a hasty retreat. If you turbo away from the center of the battle and wait on the fringes, bots will often come to you one or two at a time making them easier to manage. This is not always the best way to win a Skirmish, but you will get some practice in. Just remember those corporations will always be willing to spend more pilots clearing up sectors infested with Hive to get to their precious minerals.
I've heard various things about Assaults vs Guardians, but I found that TyCorp Assaults were an easy way to get into that level of practice as their blasters hurt less than others. You will not find TyCorp Assaults in a Skirmish, but once you learn to deal with the rapid refire of a TyCorp dodging the neutron bursts of a Valent or Milanar assault becomes just as easy.
Lastly, find a pilot in game to do some Skirmishes with (Hive or Border) or to be your Mentor. There's nothing like having someone else flying next to you to show you the ropes. If you don't want to advertise on channel 100, you can send a system-wide message from your PDA by selecting the 'system' button under the 'Comm' tab.
Forgive me for being so long winded on the subject. VO combat is enthusiasm to me. Hope you were able to gain some insight from that; there's no one 'right' way to do everything and what works for me may not work for you. If all else fails, remember... you are a leaf on the wind.

Note that if you send a system-wide message, it includes your current coordinates in the message, which means everybody who is in that system will know where you were at the moment you sent it.
I personally recommend a Warthog MkII with a fast charge powercell, plasma devastator of whatever calibre you can get at your license, and a neutron II. Hunt tycorps. If you're UIT, go to Nyrius or Verasi for a tycorp-only sector. If you're Itani, Pherona. Serco, Betheshee, I think.
Don't bother with the guardian bots, go straight for assault class bots.
The Stingray is probably not the best choice.
Many thanks to all. I'll see if I can find a 'Hog and go from there.

Get the Megaposi - find Ninjr in game, he'll assist yer noobish arse.
You should use atlases to practice, not a rev. Also, depends on your stratetgy, you should start killing Apputech-5 guardians and Tycorp assualts. I have a special way of killing them. Find me in the game and ill tell you.
