Moving the Mouse Cursor Without Using the Mouse
Is there a way to move the mouse cursor about in your pda without using the mouse as I'd like to be able to navigate the pda using one of the hats on a joystick?
I've experimented with MOUSEX and MOUSEY but that doesn't seem to do much when your in the pda. I've also looked in config.ini, wgaf.cfg and at the console commands web page but I'm not having any joy. Tab and the arrow keys sort of work in the pda but only partially and I have a feeling that that's not going to help with what I'm trying to do.

Since you're a Linux user, if you set 'Option "StartMouseENabled" "true"' in the xorg configuration for your stick, the joystick will control the mouse. I haven't worked with this option, but I assume there is a way to tell it which buttons and axes to use for mouse control, so you should be able to set up a hat switch to operate the mouse and a button to click it.
Of course, that's a global setting and would affect any other games you use the stick with, so it may or may not be desirable.

Thanks Pizzasgood, your a star!
What you said got me thinking so I did a search on the Arch forums which, to cut a long story short, led me to a cool bit of software called qjoypad
qjoypad lets you setup your controllers buttons/axis to any key or mouse press/movement. So now I've got the hat on my stick setup to move the mouse pointer with another joystick button set as a mouse press, it works like a charm.
Now, all I have to do is find the right key combination to setup that small thermo-nuclear device. hehehe

Woodlander,
You have the Warthog right?
I am thinking you should be able to do all of those functions navtively in the TARGET programming language.
The guys here can probably help you out: http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/forums/244/1/T_A_R_G_E_T_Programming_Thrust.html
I know on my Cougar, using the older FOXY programming software you could easily do thing like this. I saw a command on it that would open Paint, draw the joystick and colour it all with the press of a button.
Cheers!

That's a Windows solution. Woodlander is using Linux.
Right, missed that.
Looks like you are on the right track then, disregard the windoze lamer over here.
