Great game but...

I think Vendetta looks like a great game, but 10 dollars a month seems exspensive for a casual gamer. If I only play once a week is it even worth playing Vendetta?

Thanks.

This is the main criticism I have of the subscription model vs. The F2P model being adopted by many modern mmorpg today. The short answer is: you won't play it once a week. Which is to say I think it requires a little bit more time to be acquainted with, before you can play it on a casual basis.

Once you get to that stage, another criticism people have is that it plays too much like an fps space sim to warrant the subscription. To be honest I think that criticism comes from the type of player that is ignoring the larger community/political/guild aspect of the game. So I don't agree with it myself.

My advice to you is to pay the first month and see how you go. It will become really apparent very quickly if vo plays the way you're looking for. It is the kind of game you can play casually especially if you intend to commit for a larger period. A yearly subscription is something around $6 a month.

Hope that helps your decision :)

Think of it this way: how many hours do you need to play before you've gotten $10 worth of fun out of it? Will you play that much in a month? If so, go for it. Even if I only play for two hours, I feel I've gotten my money's worth. I mean, a two hour movie is more expensive than VO.

If you think you won't play every month, then just pay for a month at a time, and don't sub when you don't plan to play. The devs don't delete accounts.

As far as "will you be able to enjoy VO if you only play it casually", the answer is definitely yes. Assuming you're able to enjoy it at all anyway. I tend to oscillate between playing casually and playing intensely, and have fun either way.

If you are playing on Linux or Android, consider subscribing for a month for no other reason than they actively support Linux based platforms.

The fact that Vendetta supports Linux is one of the only reasons I am here. I run it 24/7. Ya I think I might have to start up an accout. This game looks fun.

Getting time to play is another issue all together...haha

If 10 dollars a month is too much, pay $48.99 and buy 6.

With a free download, this is a little less than you would pay for an off-the-shelf game from GameStop, and you will be getting more room to explore VO.

Personally, I think the cost per month is very reasonable. Hell, it is .33 per day. I lose that much in change a day...LOL

This game is made and run by an small company. If you like indy game development, pay for a couple of months and see how it goes. Worst case, you will have "donated" 30 bucks to a group of people that work hard to make the gaming world nicer, especially the linux gaming world.

This game is terrible. What makes it fun is the community, the guilds and people you play with.

Ah yes, my 70-hour-per-week, sole-form-of-income hobby.
