I feel your pain, but the /ignore command is your best option in this regard. The Vendetta Engine Test is still very much in its infancy, and many of the administrative commands are pretty bare-bones. For instance, as a guide I do not have access to the log from the server, so I can't see a backlog of what this individual has done in order to mete out the sort of punishment you describe. Accepting logs from sources other than the server invites abuse owing to the ease of creatively editting them. We are then left with peeling one of the devs away from their important tasks in order to deal with this and every other infraction. Some day the admin stuff will be a priority, but today there are many other things that need their attention. I do not allow spamming when I am on, but as you know I can't be on 24/7. Yes, more guides would probably help, but I know of no plans to add any more of the current type of guide. In the future there will be a different type of player/mentor/guide, and probably quite a few of them, but again that project is a lower priority than several other aspects of the test.

Well around 6:40PM Eastern Standard Time where I live a player that goes by the name of "Kahuna" decided to spam up the chat with complete nonsense as the usual spammer does. For no reason too except that we we're killing him and he could of just as easily just said to not kill him and we wouldn't have. I'm assuming that he's a noob considering his actions but then again there are lots of players that like to piss people off.

Now the /ignore function works great in situation like this but whenever i do that i feel that even though i can't hear them, they get a certain satisfaction out of making me do that. So really we need to have place to report stuff like this to get people banned and/or suspended to make the vendetta enviroment more enjoyable for all. Otherwise this test will really go down the drain.

So just to tell you that something needs to be done about this and fast. Especially to how many people are just allowed to do this.

ok just to know that something is being thought about it, although something more should be done i know it's still in the myst of being developed. But could you like make a program that after something puts like 20 or more consecutive lines in the chat then they would be muted from everyone for like 10mins or something?

Just use /ignore. I hate it sometimes because then the ignored party will trashtalk you, but most hate it and will then /ignore the person. Everyone does it very quickly if it's bona fide spam.

At the risk of this turning into a flame war *feels FM's eyes glaring at him* my experience with this character was the same, so I'd just ignore him and then don't worry about it. I have a habit of going and clearing my /ignore list about every week or so, so then if a character grows up in that time, you'll be able to converse with them.

hmmm yeah good idea, but then again some people just spam to spam in new characters. That's why i feel that more action should be taken, even though i know that nothing can be done about it right now so i'll just use the /ignore command.

There's other problems with ignore too. For example, if they're a good spammer, they can actually lag the server, and since ignore is client-side, they'll spam the people that have them ignored too.

Ok, I'm puzzled....The thread starter is the same guy that just admitted using sexual slurs and abusing someone in another thread, correct?

Maybe we SHOULD begin implementing bans, starting with the people that apparently want it so much....

I aslo agree who cares if Kahuna is on my team i will still shut up the stupid idiot!
