When are we actually going to get a decent update?

Freespace Official may be silent, but Freespace SCP - Source Code Project - has never stop, keeps releasing new content, mediaVPS files for incredibly improved visual FX, new campaigns, etc... Freespace's only caveat is a lazy multiplayer, almost useless, and combat-only gameplay. But Freespace-SCP runs on many plataforms (Linux!), is incredibly polished and offers tons of addons, mods and full conversions. Open plataforms produce that... (VO plugins and skins are a first step into that direction, but far from "open")

WC is on my list of "try some day". If it comes out with Linux support and multiplayer...

You are wrong about Freespace... it has physics mode, tons of mods, and IF you reprogram the keyboard properly you can combat as in VO, drifting one way and facing another. But since weapons there are way more precise and WAY faster than VO, you'd better keep moving fast. Just play "Beyond the Red Line demo" and you'll find you that your VO skills can make a whole difference there...
But its multiplayer sux as bad as you, BT

Hi, just a quick and blunt heads-up: this mobile port thing has been the best business decision we ever made. I am completely and totally unapologetic for following a course that has put us on far more solid financial ground that we have ever been before, with loads of free marketing. And, in retrospect, I am entirely willing to trade the last two years of very slow gameplay progress for our current vastly-improved financial stability. Even our future outlook, like our positioning for outside investment, is now far better, as our relative unique-ness in the market and profile have been substantially elevated. After a decade of struggling to survive, frankly, we're doing great! As a direct result, the outlook for the game is also better than ever. However..

I am not thrilled that our veteran userbase is currently bored/neglected and wondering where the game's going, or that I'm no longer a game developer but instead a biz-dev guy who makes "apps" for little black rectangles. I remain viscerally aware of our game's long-standing issues. But I have been willing the temporarily sacrifice development in the hopes of returning in a more stable and effective position. So far, so good on that.

No one will really be satisfied until we actually see game changes happening, so I'll spare you any more words and stay focused on the goals I stated in my earlier post.

Thanks for sharing the big picture. It's encouraging to see that the quiet summer does represent big advances for VO. I hope you receive the rewards of your perseverance this next season.

There's a lot of multiplayer space sims out there. There's only one Vendetta Online.

I found the gameplay I was looking for in alpha, I found the guild I became a part of in beta, I found an outlet for my creative bent in the launch of the PCC. I'll continue channeling creative energy in to the PCC for as long as I'm playing, and I'll continue playing as long as the devs keep the ship sailing.

Keep it up, people are taking notice. To any bored vets out there, I'd like to see a geophysical analysis of all the planets in Vendetta Online.

Or, if you have a taste for designing missions, I have a project running in the PCC.

Ah, the dulcet tones of the Vendetta Online jeremiad.

We shipped a phone build earlier today (so far only for Xperia Play), so Ray is now working towards some game-related goals. Adding a feature to delete keys and reducing the dropoff rate in convoys are both up there. I'll post something more elaborate when the timing on this phone-world stuff is correct.

Anyway, I'm locking this thread for now. Hopefully we'll have some kind of patch on Friday.
